Muyeye is a really good player, he's had a really good Blast/100 this year. He's been around County for a while, but hasnt been that consistent, it's a tough school.

That Blast and The 100 are about 25 games back to back to back. To get our guys up to speed we have to do something similar. The odd game here and there just doesn't come close.

We could set up a fake T20 comp and put a bowling machine back of a length at 140 on off stump and get all our batters to see what they can do. Thats currently the only way ro see who's got the shots.
Then stick a Merlin on (oh we dont have one  ) and do the same, put Rashid type delivery into the computer.

They could get Muyeye back here tomorrow. Zanu could just admit they faked the letter saying he was a complete undesirable (aged about 18). He'd lose his fake refugee status and he could play against Sri Lanka next week.

Knackers is stuck with getting an investment citizenship or getting a dispensation from the Minister I would think.
The Zim marriage obviously doesnt cut it, which is surprising.
Antum never got married to a Zimbabwean. even if he had got married to a zimbabwean, he still needed 5 years to get his citizenship from the day that marriage is registered.

Besides he is an overrated player

Where is Naqvi? Seeing the Muyeye hype train and I just don't understand why anyone would be against Naqvi playing for us. They are literally breaking all the rules for Muyeye to tick their diversity box
Please stop misleading people. There is no single rule/law that has been broken rule for Muyeye. He is playing because he is good enough to play at that level. They cannot fast-track him to England setup because rules are rules they are waiting till he becomes eligible.
The settled status eligibility they changed in March 2023 for non EU. Muyeye signed in May 2021.
Rules are rules
ECB are loose with the rules when it suits them.
His dad is Zanu and his mum was so active within MDC that she left in 2015 after threats. Where do you see such a genuine political split within a zim family?
I have seen it before, I know a couple of people that have manipulated this for getting family particularly into the states. If that was absolutely genuine there would be 14 million Zimbabweans living in Britain, but you need strong Zanu connections to achieve it  That Persona Non Grata letter on the Zanu PF letterhead is the golden ticket.

Hey good luck to the guy, It galls with me a little, more of a head shake, nothing more, you do what you gotta do, but we know it was engineered. He didnt have to get involved and was most certainly not threatened other than as a box tick for the application. I recall seeing his twitter posts that helped his application for refugee status.

He needs a decent season as he becomes eligible for his passport and he will get a shot. His current stats are not stand out by any stretch. They want/need a black batsman, for whatever their reasons. They need an Asian or two for the inclusivity box as well. The way England are headed atm that may all change dramatically. If it continues in the current trajectory there's huge trouble coming.
When he does play there will be big newspaper articles about him conquering all odds and the refugee thing, but the reality is that plenty of people have had it a lot tougher. He didnt paddle across the channel in a tractor tube. It just takes one person to cast some aspersions to a sympathetic outlet to cause some temporary embarrassment, not a deal breaker by any stretch.
The press will always be sympathetic.

All of Zim want a black guy to succeed over there, its the same for our black footballers in Premier league, we all enjoy seeing what a zimbo can do on the big stage. The hypocrisy however is when a white guy does it he's vilified by black Zimbos. Go Back To Britain. But when a black dude slides in there through a side door, thousands use the same loophole immediately. Always two sets of rules. Only about 10% of immigration officials manning the system there are actually white and the floodgates have been opened. I'm 1000% all for it, the British have a history of treachery towards white 'Colonialists' and we enjoy their current discomfort immensely, they're being colonized, it's beautiful. If I was there Id be based in Calais selling rubber dinghies and life jackets
White Rhodesians suffered more casualties per capita than any other nation in WW2. Read up on how many black Rhodesians also volunteered to go and die for Britain. Its extraordinary. The British political elite are a treacherous lot and have a lot to answer for. Bob was right- Blair toilet
Try get into Britain as white person who's descendants died in wars for Britain, ditto the Gurkas, but some sack head from Somalia can hide under a lorry and check into a 4 star hotel
You can join Taibu's church and get there on a Jesus visa and then go hide in Slough , easier than paddling or gripping onto the chassis of a lorry.

It rests on the Minister and how badly ZC want him.
If they are happy to revisit Cremer, Knackers potentially offers a lot more and for a decade longer.
He's a bandage and daily reminder of a failed system. Goodwin and Johnson were bandages as well, so they shouldnt feel bad, we need them.

I was looking up Muyeye's Blast stats because he's getting a lot of hype. Innings 34 Average 20, strike rate 140. Theyre itching to give him a call up.
Nick Welch innings 24 average 22, strike rate 130. Cant get a game in a side that would get minced by any county side  and he's come a long way since then, really getting his game together.
Two sets of rules. Has to make way for Madande, Musekiwa, Munyonga and Madhevere who would fail dismally at that level.

Muyeye came to the UK as a minor (dependent of a refugee). Once he turned 18 he couldn't continue being a dependant and had to lodge his own asylum application which was approved.

As a refugee you are treated as a 'local' for example you enjoy almost all the privileges reserved for British citizens except passport and the title. University you pay home fees, you can apply for benefits etc. What Muyeye has not done is trying to cut corners to get citizenship and play for England. As a refugee the the settled status eligibility that changed in March 2023 for non EU does not affect him at all.

They broke the rules for Archer. They would absolutely do it again, if Muyeye was suddenly the best batter in England, which he isn’t obviously.

The ICC rule is 3 years residency. ECB had imposed their own 7 year rule over and above this (mainly due to the criticism of the number of foreign born/raised cricketers in the side), they then lowered this back to 5, at a convenient time for Archer (who had a UK passport from birth anyway, as his Dad drove a bus in London for many years - he was ineligible in spite of this, as he had played for Windies U19s).

So, to say that they broke the rules is a touch unfair. They changed their own rule, which was tougher than the international standard.

Kinda fancy Alex putting on over Rangers today. Top of the table clash and no Taks insight.
CHRISTOPHER MPOFU: 'The problem was fear of failure. I used to think that when I played, if I didn't do well in one game, I would lose my place for the next one but now I've let go of that'

Its tough batting first at OG's. Tennis ball bounce.
Some very ordinary bowling by Sogo, but amongst the poor deliveries some wicket taking ones and just diabolical batting.
