Maybe. Curran trying too much variation. I've noticed at u19 level the batters often succumb to scoreboard pressure at anything above the 240-250 mark.

This Pope is a big hitter, if they don't get him soon he will change the game. Sam bowled poorly after that first over in my opinion.

Just cant see our batsman being able to put up a decent score against this English attack.

On the bright side we are better than Fiji :D

Cricket is a strange old game, you just never know.
Would be good to field first against them and bowl well.

It's very strange why George Hankins is not in that side. He was the Millfield captain last year and many rate him as the best schoolboy bat in England. He's made the England Development Squad but can't make the u19 side?

So from Millfield he would be in contention for a Somerset berth, then I saw him in a trials game at Surrey where he scored a magnificent, faultless century, now has been signed by Glouster and is in the England Development Squad? Seems very strange.

I thought you were based in ZIM, Googly?

Good win for the boys but it was only Fiji...

I'll miss the first innings of the game against England (perhaps i'll record it). I wonder how Curran feels about going up against the Zimbos...

He played for the England U19s Development Squad against Aus U19s in a warm-up for the U19s Ashes, that would be one step below the full England U19s. He didn't exactly grab his opportunity there, collecting a duck in the first innings and left unbeated on 22* in the second innings. A couple of his teammates in that side made the final England world cup squad, the majority didn't. Just goes to show how much more competition there is in the big Test playing nations -- quite a number of players in the England squad have already made their FC debuts. He does sound like a great prospect for Gloucs, though.

There's obviously a lot of depth for them to choose from, I'm not disputing that, but he's better than the guys I saw today. It's a matter of small degrees but I prefer what I see in GH. Stands still and has a simple technique.
They all resort to some cute around the corner shots as well, and two of them went out walking across their stumps when it wasn't necessary. It's too premeditated for my liking. I'd like to see Curran bat up the order as well, he's better than a 6 in that side. Everybody from Surrey to England is blowing smoke up the kid's arse and trying to look for ways to shelter him and expose him at the same time. It's so complicated they are confusing themselves. He's good so let him bat at 4, he will do just fine. He's taking wickets because he's left arm with swing and bowls well, but he's a better batsman than bowler in my view. Pope from WI I thought was excellent.

What's sad was when Sam was at Saints, Matigimu was a better bowler. Three years later, with the correct coaching Curran is the best thing since sliced bread and Matigimu is not even a permanent fixture in our side?? That's the difference between us and them. If Gimu had gone to the UK they would have fallen upon him with soft cries of love and adoration because he could be so quick.
