So, Chisoro and Mavuta rule themselves out of any national team long format ambitions anytime soon. Earlier in the week, we saw Wellington and Mushangwe going for plenty on a 4th day pitch. Where is our next world class spinner coming from?

Sad to see Chisoro throw himself out of selection..
I think Tiripano, Jarvis ,cremer & c Mpofu is the bowling with Chatara outside looking in..

Exactly!!!

I wrote as much in the thread about Zimbabwe’s Test Spinner options. Cremer needs to improve a lot to be considered a good test bowler but who to replace him with ? Especially considering he’s a good bat.

I still think Hamilton has been seriously underused as a bowler , he would be fine for holding a end and resting the two or three quicks , better Bowler than Williams and raza( both are handy )

It is odd that Hami doesn’t bowl more often

Donald only conceded 9 runs off 10 overs.. that's impressive.. if he can replicate this then he probably just earned himself a spot. I honestly believe Cremer and Tirpano can score the runs an extra batsman would. Mpofu Tiripano Jarvis and Cremer is probably the best we can play right now.

Interesting day today for PJ and Mutumbami.. straight shootout for a spot in the squad

Yes, Hamilton would have been used more intelligently as a bowler by captains of other countries for sure. But the lack of quality spinners in the feeder systems is a major issue if we plan to get teams like SA, NZ and WI to Bulawayo for tests to nullify their pace attacks.

As for the WK shootout, it could actually turn out to be between Mutumbami and Mayavo if the latter keeps in the second dig. In any case, Regis seems to be a sitting duck. PJ Moor, if he doesn't get to keep in the second dig, is also a "captaining" sitting duck, so to speak.

+ I agree about Tiripano and Cremer making up a batsman between them. This tight bowling display could have earned Tiripano a spot already, given that Chatara is down with injury, I would be happy with Jarvis, Mpofu, Tiripano and Cremer on current form.

Consciously or unconsciously you've agreed with on so many areas lately. So refreshing to read the responses. :D

Why must you look at other countries? He has been used intelligently and excellently by Utseya and Chigumbura. Statistical evidence of that was discussed here recently.

The captains who have not used him intelligently are Taylor and Cremer. The coach who has not insisted on his use is Heath Streak.
