I’d stick with Kaia for at least the first proper game. Alongside Gumbie.

I'd say Joylord and Kaia, Wes on the bench

Wes is struggling enough in his actual natural position - so why would you make him open?

Round pegs in round holes please.

Gumbie
Kaia
Ervine
Williams
Raza
Burl
Madande

Is our best too 7 without doubt currently

Yeah I tend to agree, but there is the bowling factor that Wes brings to the side. As things stand we can’t rely on any of Raz, Williams or Burl to bowl 8+ a game.

I think there is a good chance that Ervine opens & Wes bats at 3, the fact he did ok v Netherlands and he pretty much opened v Shaheens when he got those two ‘Big Daddy’ hundreds.

Personally I’d give Kaia first shot when we play Nepal in the first game, he’s got levels to his game that no other Zimbabwean has when facing the new ball.

The bowling is interesting now, do we go with Blessing, Ngarava & Chatara? Or do we pick two of them and play the bowling all-rounder Evans or Jongwe?

But if they share max 15 overs, they only need to bowl 5 each? Or even 7-8?

Houghton hinted that we will probably see rotations throughout the tournament because he was like we will play about 10 games in 22 days. I think he counted the 2 warmup plus the final if we make it. Expect to see changes.

Kaia and Gumbie for now. Wes will get his chance. I also feel like we have to play 8 batsmen against the West Indies if we want to win that game. I'm expecting a top order collapse if we bat first against them

West Indies have incredible fire power. Zimbabwe will have to bowl really well against them and the Sri Lankans. Basically in a high scoring game they get through. I would want a sportive wicket in both those games, esp the one against WI so that their slogs don't come off. On a dead wicket they will murder the bowlers.

Yes that’s true, but our seamers can’t really be trusted for 10 each either, especially when the pitches start to slow down and take spin.

I just feel that during the Dutch series we needed that extra option, especially since Burl’s bowling has gone off the boil.
