Waddington Mwayenga?foreignfield wrote:340. Next up we have a more common species in these parts: another Zimbo in Exile (Zimbo exiliensis). Now living and working in the US, he was one of the early products of ZCU's development scheme but did not the scale the same heights as many of his contemporaries. Who is he?

That's very close, but not quite the person. They did play a lot of age-group cricket together, though.maehara wrote:Waddington Mwayenga?

Is it his brother Allan? If it is, I can't believe he has gone out of Zim and made a career in US, given that he was arrested on fraud and money swindling charges...foreignfield wrote:That's very close, but not quite the person. They did play a lot of age-group cricket together, though.

Well, not that close. But they are of the same age (Waddington and Mr X, that is), went to the same school, enjoyed some success at age-group level for Zim together...CrimsonAvenger wrote:Is it his brother Allan? Yes, that's the man. He opened the bowling for Zim U-19s along with Waddington in the 2001/02 WC in NZ. What a team that was with Taibu, Hami, Taylor, Choppa, Sean Ervine, Matsi, Elton. According to his LinkedIn profile Alfred graduated from the University of the Western Cape a few years ago and has recently moved to the US to take up a job in Baltimore.eugene wrote:Alfred Mbwembwe

Andy Durham (supposedly the future Heath Streak) was also in the team at the Under 19 World Cup.

Re: Zimbabwe Cricket Photo Quiz
I seem to remember a Cricinfo article by John Ward about "Andy Durham, the future of Zimbabwe cricket" or "A future star of Zim cricket", but I can't find it. So maybe memory fails me or it's vanished into a black hole ...eugene wrote:Andy Durham (supposedly the future Heath Streak) was also in the team at the Under 19 World Cup.
And Googly's favourite, Mr Brundle, was also there.
