Re: [Match Thread] Zimbabwe v Pakistan (Only Test)
This is Jarvis' new highest First Class score.
The tail is not as downright awful as the commentators make it out to be. Price has been in poor form with the bat recently, but is capable of adding a few runs and has done so in the past in some tight ODIs. Vitori has shown some capabilities in clearing the rope and now Jarvis is surviving adequately. And then there's Mpofu
And a six to bring up Taibu's half century
Well deserved!
123 vs England, 2000 is next.

Make that 33 balls, 11 runs and 2 fours...stuborness from Jarvis if only a couple more showed the same courage and grit...FlowerPower wrote:Jarvis has lasted 20 balls vs Ajmal, including a 4! What is wrong with everyone else?

Re: [Match Thread] Zimbabwe v Pakistan (Only Test)
Still have to pass 131 vs West Indies, 2001 first. We drew that one... Masakadza scored 119 in a big second innings.
59 runs this partnership is worth now. Pretty unforgivable the batting from the top and middle order, Jarvis is now on 20 not out.
Less than 3 overs before stumps, with the lead at 74 regardless of what happens I think the game will continue tomorrow.

I had given up...i didnt think we could take it to day 5. Hats off to tibba and Jarvis...hopefully we can take a wicket or 2 off pakistan to make the result a bit easier to look at...
Those who were saying, it was embarrassing...waht say you now?

Tibbly and Jarvis may yet give us a fighting chance at a draw (and they deserve a lot of credit for that), but we're not there yet. The damage has already been done by the 8 before them, and that was mostly down to bad play.Trevor wrote:I had given up...i didnt think we could take it to day 5. I'm thinking of hitting up a few of the pakis tomorrow with some cash in the hope they repeat there effort against Australia
It would only be a goodwill donation of course, in which they would be so overwhelmed by the ten bucks I have them they may get distracted enough to lose

What's the lowest score we can hope to win or draw with?
I'm thinking 170. 85 or so runs away, lasting till over lunch
