To be fair, playing Wez can still be the right call, because you don't want a situation where he, Myers, Marumani, Shumba, etc are thrust into the first XI around 2025 with very few caps between them and expected to take over from Williams-Raza and Co.
It was never the right time to bring in Wes. He was only just finding his feet and getting into a rhythm with his white ball cricket and he got thrust into the Test arena and constantly picked expecting to come good.
