What a poor shot.
This is what I mean about Ryan Burl. He has all the talent in the world and he can really bat, but it's going to get to a stage where he'll fall by the wayside due to low scores. These are golden opportunities while Ervine and Taylor are not in the side

We're getting massacred here.
Re: [MATCH THREAD] 2nd Test Afghanistan v Zimbabwe @Abu Dhabi
As I said, I think we may be able to fit Ervine and Taylor into this team.

With Shumba knocking about as well and hopefully Dion Myers, these opportunities simply can't be wasted

I will say this again and again Burl is out of depth, he is a Maruma type now

Have you ever seen Shahzad bat? Guy slogged all day. In between he might play an actual cricket shot here and there. One game alongside a bunch of mediocre Irish batters also doesn't say a whole lot. Same with the rest of the pre-2015 Afghanistan batting lineup.grant wrote: ↑Fri Mar 12, 2021 9:18 am
Yet he used to get more runs than almost all their other batsmen somehow...![]()
He was the best batsmen in this match (in a team that included William Porterfield, Paul Stirling, Kyle Coetzer, and Mohammad Nabi) against a full-strength England side:

Apart from the lean patch that he went through in 2014, I've never really seen him struggle much.

The keeper is doing a good job. He's not getting personal and he's not being aggressive, just smart chatter. I just hope he can bat..

Well he's not is he. With an average of 42 in FC cricket and at the very least a few international half centuries, Burl has shown he is and always will be a better player than Maruma. He just needs to make mental leap now before he does actually get labeled

Probs need a ton from the Don.
