What a poor shot.
This is what I mean about Ryan Burl. He has all the talent in the world and he can really bat, but it's going to get to a stage where he'll fall by the wayside due to low scores. These are golden opportunities while Ervine and Taylor are not in the side

As I said, I think we may be able to fit Ervine and Taylor into this team.

With Shumba knocking about as well and hopefully Dion Myers, these opportunities simply can't be wasted

I will say this again and again Burl is out of depth, he is a Maruma type now

Did the keeper bat well for Afghanistan
he did not bat, but i just dislike him more and more. He really is trying to wound us up

Yet he used to get more runs than almost all their other batsmen somehow...

He was the best batsmen in this match (in a team that included William Porterfield, Paul Stirling, Kyle Coetzer, and Mohammad Nabi) against a full-strength England side:

Apart from the lean patch that he went through in 2014, I've never really seen him struggle much.
Have you ever seen Shahzad bat? Guy slogged all day. In between he might play an actual cricket shot here and there. One game alongside a bunch of mediocre Irish batters also doesn't say a whole lot. Same with the rest of the pre-2015 Afghanistan batting lineup.

The keeper is doing a good job. He's not getting personal and he's not being aggressive, just smart chatter. I just hope he can bat..

Well he's not is he. With an average of 42 in FC cricket and at the very least a few international half centuries, Burl has shown he is and always will be a better player than Maruma. He just needs to make mental leap now before he does actually get labeled
