Ugh, so close for South Africa. Is this a choke? Having Bumrah shut you down isn't unexpected, but SA looked to be cruising home.

Ya that’s a choke! Had India up against the ropes at 49/3 in their innings and then pretty much had the chase in the bag needing a run a ball after the 15th

To me a choke is a single moment where victory is in reach and you instead choose defeat - like Allan Donald not running. I think today the better team simply won. India's bowlers were always going to come back with Arshdeep and Bumrah having overs to bowl. South Africa also suffers from having too many bowlers who can't really bat. Once you get below Miller there really isn't much on offer. Jansen and Maharaj were never going to bring the team home.

Unbelievable win for India and there are celebrations in the country!!! A long awaited ICC title and with that Virat has also announced his retirement from T20Is.

Choke or not, I don't know, but RSA had it in the bag with 4 overs to go and just 26 needed with 6 wickets in hand. An excellent point made here by Eugene that post Miller, RSA DO NOT have any batters, Jansen is a bowler who can hit a few shots, he is not an all rounder and their tail effectively starts at No. 7. So there was always a chance that it could go wrong if a wicket falls.

It begs the question, should teams like RSA play allrounders over some genuine bowlers and increase batting depth?

Ya maybe a batter short. Fantastic final. Couldn't hope for a more tense ending. Brilliant catch. Brilliant Bumrah. Brilliant Kohli, Brilliant Klaasen.

There’s no question this was another choke. This is the definition of choke. A game won that you manage to lose. The strength of the opposition is irrelevant.

They needed 30 off 30 or something with a set batter and a few wickets in hand. Epic collossal choke.
