Is Naqvi really so good that he outbowled both Burl and Mavuta?

Jeez this is some low quality cricket.
You know it's bad when Nick Gubbins, who doesn't bowl AT ALL, dominates with the ball
I think he took a 5fer in the Logan Cup last season too. Embarrassing.

I think I could take a wicket in this competition and I basically haven't bowled since I was 13 or something

There isn't much difference between this and village cricket. Even down to the atmosphere in the ground, with players, coaches, family members, random passers by, hanging around the Centurion having a beer during/after the match and laughing about results or performances this afternoon.
Let's not mention this morning games being delayed by an hour because they delivered whites instead of colored kits!
When are we going to get serious about professionalization.

I don't see any other way Ballance fits into the T20 team without opening. He is perfectly capable. He would be the perfect anchor. I have doubts he will ever be able to accelerate the way Raza and Burl can. Even Williams has some acceleration in him. Our whole T20 batting order needs a rethink. Raza also can't be batting that low if he is our best batsman in this specific format. We need to try something different.

Rushed organisation, squeezed into 7 days, just after a test series, games on weekday mornings and a very poor quality TV broadcast.
All adds up to a poor product. Not sure if can even be called a product with entry being free

It's maddening because there is a real opportunity at the moment to capitalize on the general cricket excitement and interest around the country. And yet here we are putting on a low-quality T20 tournament, squeezed into a week, with next to no promotion.
I mean nobody even knows who is in the various squads until 5 minutes before the first ball is bowled. It's a constant guessing game/rumours/asking people inside for info. The stream didn't even work today. There were no official updates about the delay to the start time this morning or even the reduction in overs. None of the franchises are particularly active or professional on social media.
It's a holiday tomorrow and with a bit of effort and considering the free entry this could have attracted quite a crowd.
I guess the low-quality organisation and promotion nicely fits the low-quality cricket though!

Somebody very high up in the ZC hierarchy must really hate the T20 format. If they can do a decent job of organizing the Logan Cup and Pro 50s (relatively speaking), and show absolute disdain for T20s year after year, that is the only explanation

Perhaps the ZC admins like cricket more than we think they do? Anyone who marginalizes T20 is clearly a true fan!CrimsonAvenger wrote: ↑Tue Feb 21, 2023 1:23 amSomebody very high up in the ZC hierarchy must really hate the T20 format. Yeah there's some lovely retro FC love around and T20s are low status
