There’s one problem in Zim cricket and it’s bloody Mukuhlani. And his pals.
We can keep pretending that the players enjoy losing, or the coaches are terrible, or that if we picked Johnathan Campbell we’d turn into world beaters but the absolute fact remains that the sole biggest problem in the sport is HIM.
He knows it and he’s feeling the pressure and to me his sorry little outburst is just pressure showing. He’ll throw literally anyone under the bus before taking any accountability himself.
We haven’t heard the end of this.
As I predicted on here two months ago, disaster on multiple fronts awaits us in 2024.

Re: Zimbabwe Squad for Sri Lanka
I don’t think anyone seriously buys his spiel. Surely nobody of significance is that thick or uninformed?
Re: Zimbabwe Squad for Sri Lanka
For me it shows that the hierarchy genuinely believe they've done all they can and the players are entirely to blame and that the answer is to pay less or not at all and that will be the winning catalyst. Why not take it a step further and have all the players flogged to within an inch of their lives and have at least 2 of them shot?
Re: Zimbabwe Squad for Sri Lanka
The players are only good as they are
Systemic change is needed. At least he acknowledges it
I wonder if he’s aiming at the players that let themselves get fat or take drugs? Hence the professionalism comment at the end
He should clarify that if so
This isn’t how you talk about your employees though. Third world mentality on display right here

Re: Zimbabwe Squad for Sri Lanka
No doubt Mr Mhishi and his upcoming much awaited ‘report’ will state how wonderful the board is - of course its everyone else to blame

Re: Zimbabwe Squad for Sri Lanka
Mr Makoni went down to Bulawayo and gave all the players a rocket in the change rooms and then chewed out the coaching staff.
Bvute did the same thing after our UAE loss.
They firmly believe in the master slave relationship.
I'm curious where Masakadza sits in all of this. Once he was on the receiving end and it didn't seem to work and now he's on the giving end thinking there might be a different outcome? It's so weird.

No doubt the players have to take some responsibility for poor performance and especially for the drug stuff. But also the system has created this. Everything goes back to the top.
They’ve had twenty years in charge and this is the mess we are still in.

Well he is right out about the drug issue, but then test the players surely?
Hes also right about lack of commitment by some players. There's no place for fat guys unless they're Sterling good.
If you pay even less I'm assuming the players will find more time to practice and go to gym.
