Re: Zimbabwe Cricket Photo Quiz
That's so annoying. I used his pic to track down my answer and knew I'd seen him somewhere. Damn.

Oh well, I caught a bad cold a couple of days ago and am not quite up to my scheming bestCrimsonAvenger wrote:Well, you could have given other clues that would have still kept it openBut did not know Glenn Goosen was actually related to umpire Quintin. So, there it goes...

I mentioned him earlier in response to a question about the Huckles: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=364&hilit=huckle&start=1320#p41065 He was playing for the same club then, and it seems he spent ten years or so in English club cricket, also played a bit of Minor Counties. His fb page lists him as residing in Harare again.

498. Which Rhodesian great are we referring to here?
Re: Zimbabwe Cricket Photo Quiz
Vernon Edward John Dickinson!
Strangely enough, I got the Dickinson part first and the Vernon part last...go figure.

Peterhouse U14C 4th change bowler and no. 10 batsman (but only because Aaron didn't have a bat).

499. Another of those tough Collage questions as we approach 500. Which former Rhodesian cricketer are we referring to here?
Clue: This is not as straightforward as the previous collage

A couple of clues:
1. He hasn't played much cricket, but he did represent Rhodesia at FC level.
2. He took part in the first world war and received official recognition by the British for his gallantry.
