Had to look it up.

In test matches Ballance averages about 47 at number 3 from 16 innings. 6 from 2 innings at number 4. About 31 at number 5 from 6 innings. 18 from 1 innings at 6.

Craig Ervine averages 13 from 1 innings opening. About 32 from 6 innings at number 3. 49 from 7 innings at number 4. 23 at 5, about 29 at number 6 and around 30 at number 7.

The numbers seem to suggest that Ballance should be at 3 and Ervine at 4.
Interesting. What about Ballance opening?

Tiripano? Really?

Cannot pick Don as a bowler,

14 matches 26 wickets @47
What's Evan's record?
Evans is early into his career and has had a few good contributions.
Like in the win against pakistan both with bat and bowl and the five wickets against India.
With time I do reckon he'll also be a better batter than Jongwe and Tiripano. Has a better fc and list a record than both of them.
He's on debut on a very flat surface.
Our other seamers haven't done anything better.
A bit more pace and variations is certainly something he should improve on. Will give him time though.

I don’t think we are ever going to agree Doggy  for me Ervine is a 3, Ballance is a perfect 4. Williams is good at 5 because he can accelerate and bat with the tail a bit better than the other two.

I don’t think you will convince me on Ballance opening!!!

For now Kaia is locked in and Makoni will get probably the rest of the Tests this year. He looked good for a while yesterday

Its ok to disagree, what it comes down to really is if you prefer Makoni in the side or someone like Wes or another all rounder.

Wes has been dogshit, hasnt improved 1 bit in 3 years. Peaking at 19= The Zimbabwe black batsmen curse (Kaia the exception).

Ballance century would be massive for him. Imagine the feeling and celebration if he gets it, after the shit three years he has had?

Positives already from the test

Innocent
Ballance
Mavuta as a wicket taking leggie who gives lower order runs.

I know it isn't our future but just love a test match!
