There is no way that Naqvi will play for Zimbabwe. His agent will push sending his first class stats to every professional side in the world. Someone will take a gamble on him.
This is true. I have actually been thinking that we need to tie him down as soon as possible. It won't be long before people start noticing him. We should keep him away from the County tour games and the T10. Him having access to an Australian and European passport will open doors for him.

I don't remember seeing anybody dominate the way he has. The eagles can easily pass for a Zim A team

This is an interesting angle on the whole debacle and certainly possible. Came here as his last option because he’d failed to make a breakthrough elsewhere but he’s been so awesome his stock has risen again and it will have been noticed. Sure the standard isn’t the best but you can say that about a lot of countries once you look further than the rich teams full of stars.

I think this is the strongest Rhinos team I have seen.

Top 5 are all decent bats, they have the best gloveman in Zimbabwe, decent spinners with Chirwa on the the bench. Burl missing today and he would make a strong top 6.

If they could poach a decent seamer or bring in an overseas guy this team would be awesome.

The Eagles are also pretty solid, promising signs for our domestic setup.
I dunno
I remember they had a team with Trenchard, Moor, Taylor, Waller, Burl and two other internationals and cremer in support. Prob around 2015.

I think this is highly likely. People getting excited over a chancer with heaps of financial backing who, I assume, is only looking after himself and likely gives a grand total of zero fucks about Zimbabwe in reality.

If he is as good as his current form suggests I just can’t understand how he never got a chance in Australia.

I think you may be overestimating how people look at the Logan cup.
Naqvi was playin some whoop whip Northern Territory league in Oz.
If he was anyone he would be in first grade Sydney. Any of those teams would dominate a Logan cup team. If he is ambitious he would be there as that would open up opportunities in other states and big bash.
Tasmania for example generally takes the Sydney and melb overflow since It’s a small state. As does South Australia.
Potentially he’s improved though

They wouldn’t be looking at the Logan Cup per se, more looking at a kid who’s bossed it and had one failure in 2 seasons.

Would agree that if he was as good as his current form suggests he’d have found a gig in Australia.

^ Precisely my point. If he was this good surely he would have got a look in there?

Or is this simply an exceptional run of form and he’ll soon get found out? Or is our domestic standard so extremely low (it is)?

Or was there some other shady reason why he never progressed in Australia and now finds himself living in the bush desperately attempting to play cricket for a random third country?

  That sums this whole thing up perfectly yo. Desperate being the word, what it’s costing old poppa Knackerville.

Still, it was a good ride while it lasted. Provided hours of entertainment without even looking at what he’s doing on the field.

I think there’s a chance he is genuinely this good. Fair play to him .

I just don’t understand how he’s ended up here and not playing in either Australia or even Pakistan.

Another top innings and you still want to put the knives in. How insecure are you people , an outsider showing up the local boys . How dare he do such a thing , it really is pathetic.
