Hopefully its just the squad and they play proper 11 aside game .....

Really exciting to see tomorrow's stars getting a good test here ......

Hopefully they all do well especially Burl and Mamhiyo who I have high hopes for ......

Disappointed there is no Mumba, Musoko or Chimhamiwa .....

I think these tour matches are a great idea. We should have these more often to give the young fellas a chance.

Yeah it assists both the touring team and our young players giving them exposure to higher quality opposition.....

Surely Foster Mutizwa could have made one of these squads. Does this mean he does have an international career to speak of.

I think young Wellington maskadza has a good chance of making the Ireland games.

Maruma is not fit so it makes sense to pick Masvaure I guess. Especially considering that the only other possible top allrounder Kaia is not there. Mufudza is there which is good, but is Chisoro ahead of some of the other spinners like Bhasikoro&Munyede? He's more experienced and bats better so good decision I guess. Yes, Wellington's exlcusion must surely mean he's playing against Ireland.

When I put up the squads I forgot there would be 3 List A Tour matches before the 5ODIs & 2T20s. Either Mutizwa, Kaia, Musoko & Chamhamhiwa have been excluded because they will be picked then, or they are completely out and the internationals will be picked after the Ireland International matches, and this squad above will play the 4-day game. If they were left out completely then that's a major balls up!

Jongwe, Chari, Mutombodzi & Mutumbami (& Wellington) are probably with the national side in camp so that's 5 out of my XI. This is how they should line up from the current squad: Burl, Kasuza, Chakabva(c), Mamhiyo, Masvaure, Gumbie(wk), Chisoro, Mupariwa, Vitori, Tiripano, M'shangwe - That's a powerful attack though. The best batsmen are in 2&3, which spells trouble if they go early, but I prefer the best upfront. Masvaure has opened before, and he has lots of experience so it wouldn't be a bad idea if he swappeed places with Burl.

Disappointed Tiripano is in there. He's a bit older and I would have preferred to see some of the youngsters e.g Mumba. Same applies to Mupariwa. Nonetheless few would complain about that attck if ZImbabwe fielded it in full internationals so Afghanistan will be up against it.

Nyauchi's presence is a shocker of PJ Moor magnitude. Only performances will justify their selections. But it would be a major surprise if they even make the XIs.

With Kasuza, Chakabva & Gumbie in there, Sauramba's presence is rather surplus to requirements, which is why I only consider him for the T20s. Perhaps a better decision might have been Nkosana Mpofu - an out and out batsman who earned the right to be there ahead of most of in not all the batsmen bar Chakabva. This is where I cry "TRIBALISM"!!!

Could Sean Williams' presence in the team be hurting Wellington's chances of making the side ?

Maybe the selectors don't want 2 left arm spinners in the same team?

I remember when Kamungozi was brought from the wilderness into the t20 team the selectors said 'after loosing Cremer we wanted another leg spinner in the squad'

Maybe that's the case but I doubt it. Williams is not taking wickets, so they desperately need a wicket-taker. Nymbu is keeping Wellington out. I never liked his selection ahead of Wellingotn, becasue with Williams there (plus Raza, Hami & Chamu), you only need one spinner - which was Cremer at the time.

The side had Kamungozi&Mushangwe both legspinners so there would be no problem in both Williams&Wellignton there. Kamungozi actually has a better record than Cremer against the top 8, so I don't think he was selected because Cremer wasn't there but on merit. He was selected because ushangwe was on&off, and Mutombodzi wasn't working on his spin enough. Bear in mind that Cremer had been dropped and was then being selected for Tests only, and was about to be dropped from that as well.

With Tiripano & Mupariwa there, Surely Kamungozi should have been selected then.
