Great hundred for kaitano first of many

First one on list for Afghanistan test. Well suited for test cricket.

It was a great knock, the edge to get the hundred had my heart in my mouth though. Couldn’t see if there was a slip or not from the camera angle.

Look forward to see him opening for us again :D

While some others have put their hands up at the top of the order - Maunze, Makoni - Kaitano as the incumbent has done exactly what he needs to. Kasuza and Chari slowly moving to oblivion.

Mountaineers probably lost their best opportunity to shock the title favorites by folding up like that in the second dig. Despite another mini-rearguard by Don and Wellington. Eagles should cruise here, with Reggie and Wes yet to bat.

I would like Makoni, Manuze etc to be making a few more centuries this season before they think about putting their hands up. But good to see some competition for top order places and even better to see that Kaitano has responded.

I'm glad kaitano has got the monkey off his back and scored his first century. It was a bit strange seeing a test debutant opener without a first class ton but clearly the hierarchy saw something in him and they were right ( 87 on debut test)

In fairness few years ago he was nowhere near the reckoning. Very ordinary but a lot of half centuries past 18 months and also a 122 score in domestic one dayers put him in reckoning.

Indeed he is more flamboyant in the 50 over matches and wants to crack the national limited over sides too. Few scores in the 50 over matches post logan Cup I wouldn't bet against him opening against Afghanistan in December

I was very critical of Kaitano’s selection for the Tests earlier this year tbh. But it’s good to see he has stepped up his form now and seems to be thriving. His debut really did split opinions but I think it was good.

I still doubt the Afghanistan tests will happen though. If they get don’t happen then it’s a long wait until our next test. People hitting form right now might regret it! Going too early!

Mountaineers on course to beat Eagles - thats a bit of a shock!!! Eagles much weaker without Evans, Chivanga and Ngarava though. Although its their batting that has let them down.

Absolute stupidity to send Wes so low in the order - also impacted by the night watchman, but no common sense at all - they could have sent him before Mutombodzi at least?

They are about to lose to just Don, Wellington, Victor and Chatara. Others were almost useless for Mountaineers.

The fact that Nyauchi - career average 9 - scored 70-odd shows just how awful this Eagles attack is haha  . Zhawi, Ziwira, Jaure and Mufudza is pretty weak! Eagles will be looking forward to their two big lads Chivs & Big Rich coming back next time. Evans will be out for another month or two apparently.
