This regional thing we are now playing and is a recent thing I heard was actually an ICC requirement and not just a ZC idea to pit strength against strength and become essentially a trials game, any truth in that?
Some of the guys playing indicate to me that it's just a box ticking exercise. If it's a mini trials game then omit guys that definitely wont play national.
I mean what's the point of essentially half our players playing another 3 games? Give all the franchises another round and include the national players that now need to gear up for the 50 over format.

I think Regions is a good idea in theory anyway, but surely has to be done whilst all the national guys are around. If all of them were here and playing then it could feasibly be Best Vs Best and give a small handful of fringe guys with potential the opportunity to step up in a genuinely quality match.
But playing it whilst 16 guys are missing is a bit silly. Half of the guys playing this week should be nowhere near international cricket.

ZC really missed a trick by not rushing back a few guys from Australia for this series, the three guys that needed to play were Kaia, Madande & Shumba.

Even Wes couldn’t have done with a hit out, we won’t see these guys play 50 over cricket again until they play for Zimbabwe, or most likely in Madande’s case next years Pro50.

Equally though, guys need a break. They’ve been in australia for a month and I’m sure would appreciate a few days with family away from cricket.

The national team has been together for about 5 months with few breaks.
