It was only about a week ago Vermeulen scored 93 in an ODI, FFS. I'm a Vusi fan but there's no way Vermeulen should have been dropped. If Vusi *had* to play, it should have been Waller to go.
And don't start me on the three spinners thing...

You are definitely spot on. Just look at Vusi's scores of late. He doesnt deserve a place in the team on current form.

Bringing in Cremer is good decison but leaving out Vermulen is terrible. Lost 4 wkts now.
Need a big partnership. Strange to see Elton above Taylor but they are building a nice little p'ship.
Move on guys

Re: [Series Thread] Zimbabwe vs Bangladesh
'morning all...
Keeping an eye on the scores via CricInfo, and I'm positively angry - was nothing learnt from the mistakes of the previous matches? Has our side collectively forgotten how to wield a bat?
This should have been a match that gave us a chance to regain some collective pride and put down a marker that we're a side to be watched, but unless Bangladesh somehow conspire to follow our lead in their innings it's just going to be a humiliation. What has happened to our side?!

For the record: match preview from this morning's Chronicle:
Zim out to atone for poor showing
By Mehluli Sibanda
ZIMBABWE would be out to restore lost pride when they take on Bangladesh in the fifth and final match in the Grammeenphone Cup One-Day International cricket series at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo this morning.
Bangladesh have already sealed the series as they lead 3-1 to record their second ODI series victory in Zimbabwe.
The Prosper Utseya-captained Zimbabwe have to win today's encounter to lose the series with some dignity. In the fourth match played on Sunday, Zimbabwe shockingly went down by four wickets despite a world record-equalling 194 runs not out from Charles Coventry who now shares the feat with former Pakistan batsman Saeed Anwar.
Zimbabwe posted 312 runs in that match but the bowlers were disappointing and allowed Bangladesh to sneak through with 13 deliveries to spare.
The selectors have been left to rue weakening the bowling attack while strengthening the batting line-up. A bowler like Christopher Mpofu, who did duty for the country over the years was demoted to Zimbabwe A and his experience has been missed.
A few changes are expected from the hosts with Vusumuzi Sibanda who was only given one opportunity to prove himself in the third match likely to be drafted into the starting line-up while fast bowler Edward Rainsford who has also played one match so far is also likely to start as Zimbabwe seek to bolster their bowling attack.
Mark Vermeulen, save for his 92 runs in the match, has done nothing to guarantee his place in the team while Malcolm Waller has only scored five runs in two innings. Zimbabwe will once again bank on the hard-hitting trio of Coventry, Stuart Matsikenyeri and Elton Chigumbura while Hamilton Masakadza, Sean Williams and Brendan Taylor should bring stability in the top order.
Medium pace bowler Tawanda Mupariwa who impressed in his first appearance at Queens Sports Club with three wickets is expected to lead bowling attack with fellow seamers Chigumbura and Rainsford. Veteran left arm spinner Raymond Price has been impressive with ball in hand and should make up Zimbabwe's slow bowling options with off-spinner Utseya.
The visitors are on a high following their success in West Indies where they won both the Test and ODI series. Their openers Tamim Iqbal and Junaed Siddique should lay the foundation together with Mohammad Ashraful, Raqibul Hassan, Mushfiqur Rahim and skipper Shakib Al Hasan. Syed Rasel has been consistent throughout the series opening the bowling and should do the job together with Mahbubil Alam and left arm spinner Enamul Haque.
