[Match Thread] Zimbabwe vs Sri Lanka: 1st Test | Harare
Re: [Match Thread] Zimbabwe vs Sri Lanka: 1st Test | Harare
We really need DRS if it's available. Just read a very good article on the 1st Test by Tristian Holme ( worth a read IMO), and he mentioned there were 6 LBW's that went against us. There were even more in the New Zealand series. I reckon we would have got a draw if not for some terrible decisions.

If and when DRS does become available, the next step would be to see if we know how to use it judiciously. All other teams have now gotten accustomed to using DRS and know how to approach it. What to review and what not. We might jump at any half opportunity and lose our reviews initially too, and our guys are not tactical geniuses as well, so you never know how that plays out in the short term...

$5 mil which is stated in zc accounts some of it was supposed to be used to aquire drs technology . Improve queens sports club . Player contracts .so blame mukondiwa and his chairman for zc not having drs available

WIth India now being open to DRS, looks like the ICC moves closer to having it available for all Test matches.
Interesting observation there from crimsonavenger about the ZIM batters getting into awkward positions which makes them look out even when they are safe. I haven't noticed that, but its an interesting theory. The other issue is even if a decision is overturned, the ZIM batsman have to kick on and make the extra chance count. All too often the batsman will invent novel of getting out.
