Maybe the zim management have told shumba if you bat all day you can open for us against Bangladesh in the test.

The optimist in me is he’s just playing in the middle to get experience against other bowlers as a form of an extended net session,
It happens with tour games and in cool with it if it’s just a practice run in this way

I think most ZC supporters will take a plodding batting display over the allotted 4 day test period, than the trademark batting collapses, with test matches ending within 2 days with the usual innings plus defeats.
But that isn’t how it plays out,
It’s not a ‘slow 350 or quick 200’ thing.
It’s either a quick in and out or a plod slow burn collapse with the same end result.
Often it’s worse and the block block block ends in less runs because there’s simply less scoring.
Yeah 75 odd from 250 balls is just too slow, given the context. That is a day 4 into 5 match saving type of innings not a day 1 we want to win this test match innings. In conclusion, It was a good knock but did not play to the match situation.

But hes clearly worn-out and demoralised the bowlers. Its really upto the middle order to cash-in on tired bowlers and a scuffed ball devoid of spin or swing. His run rate obviously too low, but if it helps us avoid defeat, then its all good. The kid will improve, hes shown that hevalues his wicket, all he needs is an experienced "mentor" like Williams batting on the other end

either way zim has gotten to 350 at a run rate above 3 which is a pretty good
He is young and I am not bashing him, but seeing he scored 75 tuns from about 250 balls and If my reasoning serves me right, he faced +/- 200 dot balls? On day 1 that is really out of context. Im not saying he should have been greedy but that clearly shows he need to improve on his strike rotation.

344 is decent against SA. It will be interesting to see how they bat. I'm sure they will only want to bat once but that means they would need to bat for almost 2 days to get to about 550, giving them about 1 day to clean us up. Let's see what happens.
Looks like it’s going to be a Run fest for the SA A team. Looks flat as anything. We are probably looking at 600 declaration.
I was impressed by the fast bowlers steaming in earlier on, I would like to see them on a seam friendly pitch, I don’t see us going anywhere with these Flat decks.
ZC should make use of these fast bowling unit and produce conditions that will give us a chance to surprise the opposition.
We have a much better chance at winning a test match on a seam friendly wicket than a Flat deck
