I don't think we need either ervine or Williams in T20 they will struggle to score quickly against good oppositions . My ideal 11 would be
Madhevere,marumani,chakabva,munyonga,shumba,Raza,burl,Evans,mazakadza, ngrava and muzarbani
But out of the selected squad i think 11 picks itself automatically
Madhevere,marumani,chakabva,ervine,shumba,Raza,burl,jongwe,Evans,chatara,nyuchi
ZIMBABWE vs NAMIBIA T20I

Ya, that's tough, I hope he comes back for Afghanistan series. Life is such, we have to get on with it.secretzimbo wrote: ↑Mon May 16, 2022 1:27 pmHis dad passed recently. I think he's been having a tough time away from cricket for quite a while now. I'm not sure when we will next see him tbh. He's made himself unavailable for the time being.
Hopefully he'd be back for Afghanistan or more likely the qualifier, but with the NPL season ending soon and the Bulawayo league finished, I don't know where he's going to get any time in the middle.

I guess these are the final "trials".
I would go with
Regis
Wes
Craig
Raza
Munyonga
Shumba
Burl
Evans
Mavuta
Chivanga
Chatara
Hopefully we see Sean even just around them. It's in Bulawayo after all

This is probably the best team tbh, although they may slot in Marumani over Munyonga, which is still OK because Marumani did better than Munyonga in Nepal.
What excites me most is that if everything stays fine, then Zimbabwe pace attack for T20 WC and next years WC qualifiers will be Blessing, Ngarava, Evans which is probably the best Zim have had since streak retired. Club them with Wellington and 4-5 batters who can bowl - Williams, Raza, Wesley, Shumba, Burl... I think that makes the bowling quite well covered.

Re: ZIMBABWE vs NAMIBIA T20I
Out of the squad we have, first match I'd go;
1 Marumani
2 Ervine
3 Chakabva
4 Madhevere
5 Raza
6 Shumba
7 Burl
8 Evans
9/10/11 Any three of Jongwe/Chatara/Chivanga/Nyauchi
Problem is, Queens has been quite spin-friendly in club matches in the past couple of seasons (although I have no idea what kind of pitch they will produce for this series). Do we risk not having a proper spinner? Hopefully the all rounders will be okay - I still don't trust Mavuta.
Also, at some point, eventually, our 'T20 Genius' coach is surely going to realise that Ervine need to open. Surely.....

Not sure that Burl is fit to bowl. I don't rate Mavuta at all, he bowls filth most of the time with the odd good ball thrown in.
Re: ZIMBABWE vs NAMIBIA T20I
Mavuta will go at 11 an over.
I hope Evans goes well but honestly I don't see him getting a tonne of wickets against a pretty decent Namibia outfit. Happy to be proven wrong though.
The main problem is going to be runs. I just don't see the zim top order being able to cope with the pace and left arm of trumpelmann alongside the experience and guile of Weise.

No understanding why you all don’t have Wellington in your teams.
