What is the update of Naqvi's availability for the senior team?
No one is saying anything.

My understanding of ICC eligibility rules would be that he would be available at the end of 2025. This would also tie in with him playing regularly at A team level now. Why would they (or he!) bother, if it was still several years until he was going to be available.

I don't know whether or not Zimbabwe would attach any additional criteria over and above ICC regs. I doubt it. Why would they?
I’m just going to guess is there’s a succession plan for Ervine to play out the remainder of 2025, and then step out with Naqvi match ready to come in. Or Taylor.
Although I think Naqvi is coming a bit back down to earth after a good couple of years. I maintain he just looks better than he is and will end up the ultimate domestic bully that doesn’t kick on.

Never mind the icc residency requirements. Does he not need to wait 10 years for citizenship like raza did?

Only if Zim care about this, and put this rule in over and above the ICC rules. Doesn't need to be a citizen to be eligible, unless ZC insist on this. Which seems unlikely, otherwise surely they wouldn't be picking him in A-team games 7.5 years before he was eligible.

It’s Zimbabwe. Rules are as rigid as a piece of string.
The most watertight rule gets bended when there’s 5000 amer ins dollars in an envelope in front of them.

Raza didn’t have that kinda cash growing up presumably, the Naqvi family however…..
