Agree. But I think he closed one end. If he gone for 31(65) an hour ago , with Maruma in then Kaia, We would be 5 down I believe. Batting time I say he has done well as runs are pretty much superfluous this innings. We actually need someone in the middle order to face as many balls to save the match. Maybe tomorrow first hour, play riskless, then maybe Myers can try and be a bit more attacking with caution to spread the field. Only way here is to have 2 outright batsmen in the final session at 5 down at least. And I think Kaitano would actually be the men we needed for that final session.

If I would have it my way Don will play a kaitano kind of knock with Myers playing his shots. I also hope Chakabva comes in next. A Chakabva-Myers partnership might be good.

Kaitano slander is unwarranted, at least for now. It's his debut test, he batted 300 deliveries in the first innings and 100 more now, second innings with a SR of 7 is painful reading, yes, but it's a hell of a lot better than Maruma or Kaia putting up a 7(24) lbw Taskin or something. First innings was a very good effort from him imo, and second one, well we're never gonna chase 450 or whatever the fuck the target is, so he's eaten up a 100 balls, that's honestly not that scandalous. I'd persist with him and Shumba for the next Test we play.
