Thought I would update Williams' batting average cause we all know certain members have gone quiet in this thread following his latest performance:
Williams' 2015 ave: 40.35
Williams' Since WC ave: 31.20

Either way he is comfortably in the team on his batting performance alone, not to mention his bowling ability.

Just because your boys stole a spot in the RWC final doesn't mean I shouldn't watch those who got there through genuine means and attend to Zimbabwe - AFGHANISTAN.

There's a build up to a cracking semi final, plus plenty of Premier League action. Do you think any of those supporters who went to Queens were there beyond the 20th over?

Zimbabwe were down and out long before the halfway stage and merely went through the motions for the rest of the game.

For Williams, he made the most of the chance to ease his way to form. 0/19 with the ball, and a patient 102.

Batting: 17 Matches, 629 Runs Scored, 33.10 Average, 1 Hundred, 3 Fifties
Bowling: 17 Matches, 551 Runs Conceded, 7 Wickets, 78.71 Average, 97.7 Strike Rate
Nett benefit to the team: -78 Runs
44.1 game over, Afghanistan win! Williams comes down the track, swings past the ball, and Shahzad breaks the stumps. Shahzad immediately starts pulling stumps out of the ground, tossing one each to the fielders on either side of him and keeping one as a memento for himself. Williams looks shell shocked as he walks off. The crowd stand to applaud him, and he gives them a wave, but there's no smile on his face. 172/10
In my view Sean Williams has played 17 matches since the CWC, and he hasn't done anything notable when it mattered. But in this case one has to blame to others because with better support his effort today would have meant even more. So technically it's not his fault. Then again he's had 5 other Series before that to make an impact and he never did.

Yeah we get it. You hate Sean Williams and want to drive all whites and asians from the team. Williams could score a century every game and you would still come up with some crap as to why he is no good.

You'd think that people of Bavumas ilk would support the Williams,Ervines etc who stick through the famine of zimbabwe to fight it with their black brothers.

Not so.

The wish will probably one day be granted, no more whites, no more Williams,Raza and Ervine.

We will then see a completely african team with very african results.

It will still be the Sean Williams fault when they are getting rolled by Mozambique.

I have no wishes about anything, only genunie and logical opinions.

I've always liked Sean and picked him. But I'm also accurate when I've pointed out his shortcomings. As for his loyalty, only Brendan Taylor was ever loyal. The rest remain out of desperation not by choice, so you can shelve that thought.

Raza is a flawed player who's game is still developing, but I think everyone has seen that he can easily become Zimbabwe's best batsman since Andy flower, so that's not an issue either.

Craig, is hard to rate. I don't think he's quite good enough. Not a good enough T20 player, not a good enough Test batsman, has had a couple of excellent spells for the national team, but he's over 30 years old, has never really had any notable innings against anyone notable. Of the three he would not be missed much if at all - be it in domestic or international cricket where Zimbabwe cricket is concerned. Remember, even he knows his limitations. In that West Indies tour he had a couple of good games then left. The only thing that made him stay longer this time, before being exposed on the field of play like Afghanistan have done, was because the Irish didn't warm up to him and he didn't exactly dominate or do so consistently through his performances. I would probably pick Waller for the Tuskers ahead of Craig. What people don't realise is that he hasn't played a lot of cricekt for someone this old, and the little cricket he's played has been affected a lot by the numerous breaks due to being dropped or leaving Zimbabwe. So he's not as developed as say a Chakabva or Mawoyo - who are both younger than him, hence when it counts they will always look a million dollars better than he does, and have better results.

"very african results" - That kind of talk is wrong. Edit your comment.

Very African results ? He may be meaning it in a good way? It's you who is interpreting that as a negative remark. So Bavuma, u must agree then, that African results are usually bad?

Most of our players have not played much cricket for their age. When you have such a limited domestic season that is what happens. Ervine put in a lot of hard yards in domestic cricket when he was younger.

The unabridged racism and disdain in this thread *edit: forum* by people "other than hhm' is hilarious to see :D
