Good to see Mumba doing well. That Asalanka kid has a bright future and proves this SL side is of a good quality.
I also just noticed that cricinfo are now considering it as FC.

For anyone really interested in the respective strengths of the elevens, have a look at the live FC stats. The only aspect where the Zimbos are leading is the number of FC wickets (283 vs 245), but they are totally outgunned in the batting department, and the Sri Lankans are also a bit more experienced (256 vs 191 FC matches). It is true that the Zim XI has three players who have represented the full national team, where SL have only one (Dananyana), but that's more a reflection of the weakness of our national side and our FC system compared to SL. A Chari would, at best, be around the outermost fringes of a FC team in SL, and nowhere near representative honors of whatever distinction.

This is a basically SL B vs Zim B+/A-, with Zim on the back foot now due to yesterday's collapse, which does not come as a surprise if you realise that Jongwe has the best FC average among our batsmen with 27.

Whatever the end result of this game, surely it's a good thing for both countries, that this of fixture is arranged. People on this forum have been crying out for more A team XI , Development XI fixtures etc so surely this is a step in the right direction.

I'm no lover of ZC, and some of the decisions they make exasperate me, but maybe they deserve a bit of credit for organizing this kind of game?

That's like giving Hitler credit for remembering to feed his cat.

Maybe ' credit' is the wrong word. My point is that this game serves as a useful exercise for younger/fringe players, and surely is better than nothing.

Saw PJ Moor and Nathan Waller training on their own while the rest of the squad sweated it out under Mangongos watchful eyes. Was pleasntly surprised to se Jeremy Ives who looked quite aggresive in the nets and has made it into the Africa T20 provisional squad joing Murray, Mashinge , Ngarava,Mavuta and Matugimu as the under 19 side. The Maruma brothers looked in good knick. Im giddy with excitment seeing the under 19s play some light in that dim tunnel.

That's great news regarding Ives.
Wouldn't mind seeing Keefe thrown in the mix

Waller is back bowling these days after recovering from his hamstring delivery which will add another string to his bow.
