My feeling is, NZ have just 4 bastmen(5 if you wan to include the halfbaked 19yr old who gave Jarvis the treatment last match), then a LONG tail to follow in my view(yes I know they're effective allrounders with the bat).
So instead of persisting with spinners, for all their effectiveness, if you wan to win a match, bring on your premier fats bowler right now when two wickets have fallen and you have big chance to pick a few more wicket and peg them back!

Not mcu happening besides a patient rebuilding process by the Black Caps, and effective accumulation against the spinners! So what did I miss?
He's still poor. When you;r enot taking wickets with new ball, old ball and fetching a lot that's what we call you - poor!zimfan1 wrote:i know many people including hhm will disagree but i do think jarvis has improved as a bowler on this tour, seems to be able to swing the ball both ways and move the ball of the seem. The main issue is with is length
Has it occured to you that there are some here(e.g BRM) who actually still believe we struck gold?betterdays wrote:true - but you can see potential ... who selected him? blame them - poor ladZIMDOGGY wrote:Vitori?
Ordinary
Precisely what what we're suffering from! There is something at the back of our coaches' minds that somehow our bowlers will actually start taking wickets!zimbos_05 wrote:It seems we have learnt nothing from the first two games. Our bowling is inept. This is where i was saying we not very tactical as a squad. We expect things to happen rather than making things happen ourselves.

Very easy to say and do, but when they not bowling with the good line and length and not really troubling any batsmen at all, what the point. Chigumbura and Vitori are always down leg. The spinners have limited the scoring to an extent and its the pace bowlers who have got us in this situation.
We underestimating New Zealands batting attack and instead of bowling smartly, we bowling ineffectively hoping something can happen without putting any thought into field placings and where we pitching the ball.
Re: [Match Thread] New Zealand v Zimbabwe: 3rd ODI
Finally something goes Jarvis' way.
Re: [Match Thread] New Zealand v Zimbabwe: 3rd ODI
Another shocker. Chigs can't complain too loudly, he's sinned plenty himself.

With Jarvis' wickeet, and potentially another dropped one off Vitori, I hope you understand what I meant. That's what your seamers are there for!zimbos_05 wrote:Very easy to say and do, but when they not bowling with the good line and length and not really troubling any batsmen at all, what the point.hhm wrote:So instead of persisting with spinners, for all their effectiveness, if you wan to win a match, bring on your premier fast bowler right now when two wickets have fallen and you have big chance to pick a few more wicket and peg them back!

That's what you get when match after match, you've got two inexperienced&incompetent guys running in from either side, with separate new balls in hand, but no idea what to do with them!Jemisi wrote:Probably a little too late

An ineffective display!
