The worst ever thing to happen to this group is selection,
Brad Evans is a way sounder batsman and bowler in every aspect to Luke Jongwe and Chatara, his competition should have been William Mashinge but he is not up for selection. Shumba should not have played any part after the group stage, he is more than a walking wicket, how Marumani wasn’t picked still a shocker he could have done better at that 4th spot. Not going to say much about Chakabva and Ervine because truth is T20 is just not their format. Again what does Jongwe do ?

If it was a split decision between Jongwe and Evans the whole kit thing should have made it a slam dunk.
As a fact someone in that selection set up hates Evans.

We are a one man band in the batting dept. Two man maybe ...Williams showed his class again but doesn't push on

This loss is bad for a few reasons.

We've been massively outplayed by a vastly inferior Dutch side. I hope Dave has a proper clean out and proper plan going forward. A lot of the hype has probably masked over a few things.

We could start by getting a proper batting coach.

That's true. Overall Zimbabwe achieved what was expected in this WC but going forward Dave has to figure out there right players to take this team forward. The batting in particular leaves a lot to be desired.

Or proper selection
We are carrying 3-4 players at the highest level of the game. That pitch is not doing much as Raza showed when batting. Needs a bowler to bowl good consistent lines and the best we have by far is Evans. Shumba, Jongwe, Chakabva are there to make up numbers and we have Ervine up top. 4 players down already before play begins. Good luck to any batting coach.
12 overs in no sign of Jongwe, what does he do ? Chatara is a one over guy, his pace just won’t cut it at this level De cock gave them a heads up but alas here we are.

Raza and williams only players who have done well....and williams only started getting runs in super sixes.
