 I really thought they would do something this tournament. Shocking. Them beating Sri Lanka would be a good thing for us right?

I think they only carry points over for the teams that also qualify for the super 6's so if they beat SL, we have to hope that they also qualify for the Super 6's otherwise it wont change anything for us.

Ireland now must win against SL to have any hopes whatsoever, and if they do that it is a win-win for Zimbabwe. They take away 2 crucial Super Six points from SL (assuming they somehow qualify on NRR later), if they don't, well basically then we eliminate one strong contender without having to play them in the super 6s.
The stars are aligning mate.

Saturday is massive

Yes, Saturday is massive. If we win against the WI then I dare say we have one foot in the World Cup. It's a huge game.

Anyone saw PJ Moor towards the end there. What must he be thinking, was at the receiving end of the heart break in 2018 with Zimbabwe and now is at the receiving end of what is turning out to be a disastrous campaign for Ireland in 2023. All this while Zimbabwe are having a sensational run.

Why?
PJ is a great guy and has had a disastrous time of it. I feel terrible for him. Imagine spending 15 years of your life practicing and playing a sport that has not treated him well. All stemming from a poor relationship with the hierarchy, for whom there never appear to be any consequences. You stick your head above the parapet and it gets lopped off.

I wish him no harm or misfortune. But at the same time I have no sympathy the other way either.

He made his choice

I would much rather play Scotland than Ireland.

Ireland are toast I reckon, although if they are able to beat Sr Lanka & the UAE they’ll likely take 2 points into the super sixes I reckon, then they are still are chance.

Seems highly unlikely though especially since Oman has 2’wins already whilst Sri Lanka & Scotland are 1/1.

Looks like we could be playing Scotland & Oman in the super sixes, which is good for us in one way, but also bad in another. If we fail to beat the Windies on Saturday that means we’re relying on either of Scotland or Oman to beat them during the super sixes.

I was hoping the Irish might be able to upset the Windies in the Super sizes.
