I get what you’re saying. It’s just not worth the hassle or expenditure for ZC.andrea lanzoni wrote: ↑Wed May 28, 2025 7:46 amThe quality of the stream is acceptable.Pat_Bee wrote: ↑Tue May 27, 2025 8:29 pmandrea lanzoni wrote: ↑Tue May 27, 2025 11:52 amI would like to watch Logan Cup if it were decently televised: watching the pitch only for hours is not appealing![]()
It’s a top quality stream. A camera at both ends is the only improvement that needs. Serves its purpose of seeing how a guy bats and bowls.
What I pointed out is that after batting you are left in the domain of guessing: where the ball is going? Will be there a fielder to catch it? Will it go trespassing the boundary or not?
Then you see a ball coming from nowhere returning to keeper and to bowler for the following bowl.
Such fragmented broadcasting doesn't appeal anyone.
If you simply add another, fixed, camera on the other side of the pitch it doesn't help at all. What's needed is a zooming-back which allows to follow, although not in close-up, the ball where it goes. This may be obtained from the only camera on field, provided it's not a stand alone camera with no operator of course.
As I said (several times) a decent broadcasting would then have a worldwide audience and be paid back by sponsors. NOT local sponsors: if the audience is worldwide you may have from overseas.
Finally: Italy cricket is ... "fourth world" with infinite less resources than ZC, however live stream of matches covering the pitch only is common even here.
I watch literally everything they put on pitchvision, men and women

A regular Logan Cup game or Pro50 game might have 10k viewers, the vast majority of the comments during live play are from Asian user names, likely only watching for betting purposes. Some of that 10k will be guys who tune in to see something specific like when Googly complains how Nick Welch got another contentious LBW decision or when Wez edged Burl behind on 97 that time but the umpire said it came off the thigh guard

The domestic t20 has a lot more views, in the region of 100k. People are probably more willing to give 3 hours to it rather than 8. This has the moving cameras and commentary because the demand is there I guess. The same with the national side A games etc. it’s a better product than regular domestic games, draws in the viewers and is broadcast accordingly.
Note that the moving cameras and commentary only appears to be for higher profile games and only games at HSC.
It’s Zimbabwe domestic cricket ffs

Giving every game the t20 treatment would be a complete waste of zigs. Got to buy the cameras then pay the guys to operate them and pay guys to commentate.

I see that old wife beater, Boycott has been gunning us.
He made a career out of speaking his mind, but somewhere back in '75 he crossed the line and has been an obnoxious outspoken prick ever since. People have died of old age watching him score 20.

making that 20 in a monster 9 hour innings spread over days

So they’ve replaced Raza, a spin bowling middle order batter with Makoni, an opener who does not bowl. Right.
Three tests ago they thought Campbell was good enough to debut and captain but now they think Makoni, who hasn’t played a game since, is a better choice.
Great logic

They've kept in line with their corrupt agendas. Really feel for Campbell , Burl and Evans . At least one of them should have been added to the squad.
