Good mix of experience and youth plus some power and precision batting .....

Mark wants to make all formats again for Zim. But I think in reality will only play red ball cricket for Zim. Even though he is good enough to play all formats. He came back from South Africa where he has been chilling/working. I dunno haha.

Thanks a lot for your info. This means is there a chance that we may see Vermeulen in franchise season ?

What about Butterworth ? He quit too I reckon.

Deven Bell, Craig Dollar will they play for franchise sides too ?

I was excited for him when he made it after doing well against Afghanistan. Hamilton Masakdza was even shifted to accomodate him. Unfortunately Mark flopped. He failed in Bangladesh again but for the A side. That was his last chance. Too late for him I'm afraid

In 2011 Zimbabwe should have had this team.
Vermeulen, Duffin, Ewing, Hami, Taylor, Vusi, Taibu(wk), Price, Panyangara, Rainsford, Mpofu

They missed the trick. Lost the best of Ewing, Vermeulen, Rainsford, Duffin&Vermeulen.

Vitori and Mawoyo are off colour. Lamb failed in the County setup & Logan Cup. Jarvis one half of a good season of County Division Two via over a season of 2nd XI cricket. Cremer was repeatedly mauled until he was dropped then quit. Malcolm Waller has 9 Test caps same as Vermeulen, 3 times as Ewing, and more than 4 times as Duffin!

Now some have line ups with Chibhabha&Craig in the top 3. Chatara hurt and everyone anxious there's no quality replacement, yet Rainsford is a 30 yr old commentator.

Experience first then the new guys later. I was right in the end. Stuck with underperforming seniors, and afraid to blood in the youngsters.

Soon all the oungsters will leave like Simon Mugava!
Mighty Proteas: Sincuba, Zondo, Ramela, Bavuma, Tsolekile(c), Mosehle(wk), Gqamane, Rabada, Phehlukwayo, Phangiso, Tsotsobe (Coach: Toyana)

Vermeulen back in the Test team is a mouth watering prospect. Gives us experience at the top of the order which is otherwise lacking given Mawoyo and Sibanda are out in the wilderness.

1st Test vs Bangladesh:

1. C Chibhabha
2. M Vermeulen
3. C Ervine
4. H Masakadza
5. S Williams
6. S Raza (c)
7. R Chakabva (wk)
8. G Cremer
9. B Vitori/D Tiripano
10. T Panyangara
11. J Nyumbu

I've heard that Mark might be player-coach at Eagles this season as Greg Lamb can't live on the 800 dollar contract he was offered as captain of 1st class side. Sigh. So Verm replaces Lamb. Vermuelen is class.

Bugger, so that's the end of the line for Lamb?

(Although it's good news about MV)
