I believe running a country into the ground is known as black empowerment.

Great depression
Financial collapse
Automotive Industry Crisis
Energy crisis
Greek Crisis
European debt crisis
European economic crisis (yes Europe is in an irreversible recession)
Federal governement bailouts
US debt 18 trillion or 200 trillion plus depending on which way you look at it

Hey let's all revert to Gold backed currencies...I know Zimbabwe&SA have enough inderground to cover their debt and lend value to their currencies. Good luck to those with reserves. ;)

I've always found it amazing how people are blind to the amount of debt most countries live by and will never be able to pay back.

Zimbabwe has its destiny in its own hands, just as Mugabe always says and intended. How many countries in the world can claim to have the same luxury?

Destiny in their own hands? If you no longer have the will of ability to repay the debt you should not have incurred in the first place it should not be a cause for national pride. The spin doctors have managed though, it's an easy sell to rally uneducated people with cries of freedom and it's shameful.
We have a Great Depression, a Debt Crisis, an Emmigrant Crisis, an Immigrant Crisis (Chinese),an Energy Crisis, a Water Crisis, a Greek Tragedy and a Black one and a White one, we have an Automotive crisis, a Food Crisis and a multitude of others. And all simultaneously. Haha. At least those other countries spread it out over a hundred years or so.
What we don't have is the luxury of government bail outs because they are broke and can't pay next month's still bloated civil service wage bill unless they loot their civilians yet again.
But we do have our freedom. We are free to vote for ZANU every election, we have an impartial judiciary, the police, army and most big business can do their jobs without fear or favor....
Freedom!! Freedom!! Freedom!!

Ranking of African Countries By Literacy Rate: Zimbabwe No. 1

Where do governments get their money from considering pretty much every government is indebted. You forget the amount of debt Zimbabwe has is nothing really. Many individuals can pay it off easily, and lenders have been known to write off multiple times the national debt those countries have (European included) comapared to Zimbabwe. The sooner you shift your reasoning from criticising Zimbabwe, and start asking why countries with a lesser ability or assets to repay debt and have far worse human rights&governance records are constantly lent funds (i.e. given money), while Zimbabwe is not, then you and I can engage logically.

Lets get back to cricket. Has this provisional squad been trimmed down yet? Who made it, who didn't?

There can't be many countries with a worse HR record than Zimbabwe. I agree that some of those are given money. That's got nothing to do with the racial bias I think you might be implying, it's got everything to do with strategic alliances and reserves. Sadly we don't have much to offer here. I would suspect that had we had the luxury it would have hastened regime change as opposed to entrenching it.

Don't confuse literacy with freedom of thought. I've seen how they teach kids in rural areas, singing under a tree and learning stuff by rote. That's indoctrination not education!!
