At last taibu stumped gayle in third attempt. I fear it's too late

Bowling Mpofu was a mistake - should have used Chigumbura. Another questionable bowling decision.

I think Taibu's miss stumpings of Gayle were the reason why Zimbabwe lost. The West Indies often look to him to get them half way there and if he's out earlyish then West Indies just crumble

These two, mainly, with a side helping of "too many extras" (21). Given how the Windies were batting, we'd probably scored enough, but there were a few fluffed chances in the field (Gayle should have been gone a long time before he was), while Prosper's decision to use Mpofu instead of Chigumbura or Matsikenyeri near the end was expensive. (Still surprised Mpofu was swapped for Shingi in the first place - Shingi showed remarkable calm under pressure to win us the first ODI. Some reward he got for it.)Flower power wrote:Fielding or poor capataining decisions .
Should have got this one under our belts while the conditions suited us - St Vincent might not be so kind to the "death by spin" approach.
One good thing to take from it: Windies only had two batsmen who made scores, otherwise it was the calypso collapso all over again. Just a shame we couldn't get Gayle out sooner.

I think our bopwlers are doing a sterling job its the batsmen who just have to score some good partnerships, we need 250 plus scores, I am not sure what kind of pitches are expected for the last three ODI's. That said I still feel that the 21 extras cost us the game!

Ya our batsmen do actaully need to capitalise on their starts. But i can't help but think that a huge score is just around the corner. Taylor, Mazakadza, Sibanda, Taibu and Chigumbura look in superb touch with the bat. It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when
