I hope these kids are willing to grind in the system for a few years. Ngarava is an example of this. Took him 5 years to work on his game and become a regular. This is actually the normal procedure everywhere. Falao and Dube have to prove they are better than Chivanga, Nyauchi and Masuku first for me. That might take a while.

How do they men actually survive? How do they survive when the season finishes, what do they do?

That's the problem. But franchise gigs for 'a few years' is extremely unappealing financially for anyone with any other career options.

Exactly. For example if Nick Welch was to come back and play for Zimbabwe, would he be made to grind it our for 2 years..? He bloody well shouldn't have to

Bennetts hands are unreal. Makes it look so easy just pushing it through the covers. It's exciting to see

Anybody with a County contract should be given special treatment if they come back. It wouldn't make sense to give up a County contract without being offered a national contract to be honest. University graduates like Murray and Evans I think a solid domestic season should be enough.

Straight out of high school you need to grind unless you are Muyeye type of special. You can even tell Wes and Shumba still have a lot of learning to do but we are in a desperate situation. Do we still have high performance contracts?

I'm pretty sure it's just the 15 national contracts and then everyone else is on franchise deals currently?

The grind is a necessary step. You can just tell Kaitano values his wicket more than Wes does. He isn't a golden child. He knew that if he played the same shots Wes played in Sri Lanka, he would have never played again. That kind of pressure to perform can build some tough cricketers.
