Zimbabwe vs England | Only Test | 22 - 25th May 2025

Raza has not found any consistency
Re: Zimbabwe vs England | Only Test | 22 - 25th May 2025
The perfect seam attack would have been Blessing, Higgins and Evans, with maybe Victor as the 4th if they were going to pick a 4th.
Richie is going to have to up his game to stay relevant. Hes slipped.

Ritchie might need to just rest and focus on the short stuff
Re: Zimbabwe vs England | Only Test | 22 - 25th May 2025
This is embarrassing.

We have got them on the ropes here, sensing a collapse……
Re: Zimbabwe vs England | Only Test | 22 - 25th May 2025
What we needed was a couple of early strikes, and we did have a couple of close calls. Thats how we win our games , but we're staring down the barrel of a huge total.
I'll be interested in when they declare. I think there's an outside chance they may have a crack at us for 10 overs this evening the way theyre going.
If this was 5 days theyd be posting 600 plus.

I think they will still post 600 plus and still comfortably win well within the 4 days.

Re: Zimbabwe vs England | Only Test | 22 - 25th May 2025
Zimbabwe can't get a wicket while England cruising at a run rate whcich is almost T20-like.
It may be sad but this is the (not unexpected) reality.
While I'm very glad for the overall number of Tests Zimbabwe would play this year, I can't but figure out that Zimbabwe Tests against England (or Australia, or India, etc.) do not make sense.
It's not shameful if WTC would become a 12 Countries two tiers competition: best 8 and second tier 4 in two different contesting robins with promotion and relegation.

Of course they make sense. How else do you pull yourself up a level? Also drives home to our muppet selectors that we have to pick our best players and not turn away guys like Higgins.andrea lanzoni wrote: ↑Thu May 22, 2025 1:35 pmZimbabwe can't get a wicket while England cruising at a run rate whcich is almost T20-like.

This match may go to 400 for 0 declared. Then in second day England completes both Zim innings and win by an inning without one single wicket made by Zimbabwe.Googly wrote: ↑Thu May 22, 2025 1:42 pmOf course they make sense. Can you see any sense in such scenario?
I'd prefer to see a WTC with 12 nations with promotion/relegation.
I'm envisaging a 8 nations first tier + 4 in second tier. Maybe 6 + 6.
A Test which may end in a copuple of days with no wicket taken by one side is not making increase level: it is conducive to harm self esteem of Zimbabwean players.
