Also we sacked Dave Houghton for this Salmon guy and Ebrahim and co but nothing has really changed. Clearly our problems are way way way way deeper than the coach, and basically no coach in the world could turn this ship around considering the wider issues, but still Salmon can't be completely absolved of criticism.
One thing the Zim team have always had is top tier international coaches. Geoff Marsh, Whatmore, Houghton, Streak, Sammons has a good rep too....

Coaching a test nation is a sweet gig.

But Ive always felt in a sport like cricket, the important coaching and results happens long before the international scene. Coaching internationally is easy, I think its more about selection than anything. Its not like soccer or nfl where game strategy is everything.

With a country of 18 million, with no other obvious rival sports competing for the cricketer, with its funding, in theory Zimbabwe should be well above New Zealand level. NZ have 4 million and 500k of them are chinese and have never seen a cricket bat.

What other sport in Zimbabwe can you succeed and make good money? Cricket is a major sport in Zim. There should be talent oozing out of the country, it should be a fast bowling production line at the very least.

Its ZC mismanagement. Not knowing the intricacies of cricket and its culture and your employees are more worried about race baiting and trolling everyone on social media.

Commentators seem to think the declaration is coming soon.

NZ should just bat on until lunch day 4.

Ok yeah, this is pretty bad. In the overall context of also losing by an innings to Wiaan Mulder, a guy who entered the game with a batting average of 25. Its not a good look. Particularly with a near full strength side (ie an all white top order almost).

It's like we play on two different pitches. When we go in to bat, we'll only score about 180.

But it's ok. We'll sack the coaches. Do a "review". Probably hire some other coach to take the fall, if not give the job to Elton or Prosper. Then say, "we are making changes". Mukhulani and Mawoza will pat themselves on the back and go on holiday to Dubai as a reward. All is well. Nothing to see here. ICC couldn't care less.
