I dont understand how they went with this squad, yeah they won 3 on the bounce, yes they beat AUSTRALIA.

The thing to note here is Bennett scores at a good rate and holds up one end, Marumani smashes it around for 30 odd. Burl attacks the spinners sometimes and then Raza scores at 150 SR at the end. Myers, Musekiwa & Munyonga were never in the field in the group stages.

A similar squad was whitewashed by Afghanistan, lost a tri series in Pakistan and was still selected for the world cup. Marumani showed improvement, Maposa never got the chance in this world cup and Wellington has proved he got little to offer compared to Cremer. Williams was a better left arm spinner than Wellington. Ofcourse Cremer can turn it both ways but Wellington can never be in the playing XI if his role is to only contain the batsman. Raza does it on most days and picks up a wicket or 2. Raza cant do it everytime and today he got hit for 50+ aswell. Muzarabani came in for his 2nd spell and picked up a wicket straightaway. Why Zim went defensive and bowled spinners against hetmyer & powell ? Muzarabani couldve been tried for one over against Hetmyer especially. Why Burl bowled in every match and wasnt given a chance to bowl here? Look at the turn Cremer got.

Anyways, this was always on the cards. This was always going to happen in some match, a few dropped catches & the game is done. Plus Hetmyer is the type of guy who can smoke spinners. He has 5 tons in ODI and less 50+ scores. Look at his scores in India before 2020, he ripped apart Kuldeep and Kuldeep is a very good left arm wrist spinner. If Zim doesnt have confidence in Musekiwa as a batter, why take him to the world cup? Welch got some chances but didnt deliver in t20i but campbell deserved another shot. Naqvi is not yet in the picture and Curran is labelled as a slow batsman. Taylor got injured and Curran replaced him because they are kinda similar in strike rates . Overall, this squad did achieve a lot in this world cup but maybe it was just 6 or 7 guys in every match winning it for them.

Zimbabwe couldve qualified for 2022 t20 world cup semi final at the expense of pakistan. they needed to win against Bangladesh & Netherlands. It was the same case there, Raza Ervine Muzarabani Williams Evans were the notable performers. Regis Shumba Jongwe failed.

Sometimes, it just looks like there is a quota in place , not on paper but still very much in effect that allows the passengers to keep on playing.

Plenty of those sixes would have gone the journey at any venue. Agree about some of the edges, but it's the same for both teams -- maybe some of our guys will cash in on some lucky hits too. After 20 overs, the man nobody can dismiss, Bennett, should be on about 150

That doesn't look good for Raza with the ice taped to his hand, have to imagine he's not going to be all that useful with the bat.

If we got anywhere near 200 I'd be quite impressed. Could be one of those 80 all out sort of days though :?

Zimbabwe aint winning this one, but they need to take it deep and score atleast 180 to give themselves some sort of chance for making the semis. India is in the last spot in this group with -3.8

I love everyone saying we are an amazing team for the past two weeks but now saying we are terrible and have an awful squad and it’s all a disaster

Real ones were consistent all along and said we were carrying at least 4 passengers

Pretty disastrous and we didn’t do well, but credit to the Windies - that was exceptional batting. They are a really good team.

Brutal reality check. The ball spent more time in the stands than on the ground

They will be blown away by South Africa and India like they have done to Zimbabwe today. It could have been 215 to 220 if Musekiwa held onto those two easy chances.

just hoping they dont drop cremer now, he really got the ball to turn even with a bit of dew. He can be effective especially against SA.
