Fair enough! I haven’t been following too closely
Re: Future tour rumours
The incompetence of ZC is just appalling, Even the smaller teams except for Zimbabwe are playing back to back series. And after the Sri Lanka tour, now these guys will have to suffice with those domestic games for another two to three months. Ireland are busy in Oman, Netherlands are touring New Zealand, the Afghans are in Bangladesh for 3 ODIs and 2 T20s, and Sri Lanka just concluded 5 match T20 series against Aussies and now they are already in India for 3 T20s and 2 test matches. All the teams except for Zimbabwe are busy playing bilateral series. How are you expecting these guys to deliver results when there are like 4 or 5 months gap after each series??

It's an ICC World T20 Qualifier. We will have the same in July.lobsang wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 10:01 amThe incompetence of ZC is just appalling, Even the smaller teams except for Zimbabwe are playing back to back series. It's an ICC Super League series. We have had some too, and have more coming up. Everyone will (in theory) play an equal amount.Netherlands are touring New Zealand,
The ODI's are Super League games, see above. We played Bangladesh in T20's last year and are doing so again this year coming up.the Afghans are in Bangladesh for 3 ODIs and 2 T20s,
As mandated in the FTP.and Sri Lanka just concluded 5 match T20 series against Aussies and now they are already in India for 3 T20s and 2 test matches.
^ The eternal question. But there are multiple things to blame, not just ZC.All the teams except for Zimbabwe are busy playing bilateral series. How are you expecting these guys to deliver results when there are like 4 or 5 months gap after each series??
Re: Future tour rumours
Well i know those ODIs are part of super league but were the Afghans supposed to be in Zimbabwe this time around to play 3 super league ODI series? There is this fear or concern of teams who are in desperate need of points possibly not going to be able to play all the ODIs which are part of WSL before the deadline is up. How many WSL matches that Zimbabwe are yet to play?.secretzimbo wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 10:18 amIt's an ICC World T20 Qualifier. Re: Future tour rumours
We've played double the number of games Afghanistan have.
We have four more series to play and I'm sure we will.
As for anything else, we need a better FTP next time around. It's difficult and expensive as a small nation to organise extra bilateral cricket outside of that. The other teams around us aren't doing much of that either.

Re: Future tour rumours
Getting a good FTP is not a big deal, making teams adhere to that FTP is. FTP literally sucks because no one is bound to honor that. If they want to cancel a series they cancel it just like that.

Re: Future tour rumours
Should we create a new thread for the 2023-2031 FTP which is probably being worked on/finalized as we post? It should be out by June or July.

Australia is set to host Zimbabwe for 3 ODIs in September, ZC are also pushing for a test or 3 T20s which CA is unlikely to agree for due to their busy schedule but the 3 ODIs will go ahead.
Before that ZC will host India for 3 ODIs in August.

Wasn't the Afghanistan tour scheduled to be held post their completion of the Bangladesh assignment?

Re: Future tour rumours
At least ZC have asked for the extra Test/fixtures.Can't do much more than that. Obviously Australia will say no, as usual.
Anyway, at least we have a lot of cricket to look forward to this winter. Going to be busy. One or two of the lads might want to reconsider their UK club deals. World Cup Qualifier, a home series with India and a tour to Australia all within about 2 months of each other.
