How are we doing coach wise, are they good enough?
Are they properly qualified? Do they keep up to date with changing times and coaching techniques?
Is it important to have these guys at their best considering the effect they have on the players and future players for Zim>
National coach:Dav Whatmore- well i guess he is self explanatory

Zim A coach:Doug Hondo. (if he isn't fired from this as well) Level 2 from Australia maybe level 3??
U19 Coach:Steve Mangongo is he a level 2 Zimbabwe?
Eagles Coach:Stanley Timoni what is his background?Level 1 from Zimbabwe? Assistant coach??
Mountaineer Coach:Shepherd, level 3 from Australia. Assistant coach:Mufaro Chiturumani no known qualifications?
Tuskers:Wayne James level 1 Zimbabwe. Assistant Coach:Pollock Mbomba
Rhinos: Robin Brown?? Assistant coach ??
High Performance Coach:Walter Chamaguta: level 3 Australia?
Greg Lamb??
Prosper Utseya:No Qualifications

Do they have sports psychology skills, do they have first aid training do they have to do CPD. Or do they just sit around on their fat asses pretending they are kings and using techniques they were taught by 30years ago?

Also the tuskers assistant coach is Pollock something, and I know Dabengwa has level 2 and does probably just as much coaching as training nowadays.

Does anyone know if Zimbabwe Cricket offers coaching qualifications? If so what levels are they and are the comparable to say ECB coaching certificates?

Robin Brown is Level 3, as when we last spoke he was talking of wanting to complete his level 4 certificate.

ZC offers a Level 1 course . This can be arranged upon request and serious interest. I would suggest getting level 1 from RSA which will cost you about R300 from the Gauteng Cricket Board its over 3 days . but dont mention you are from Zimbabwe they will shut you down stating prefernce for RSA clubs

ZC used to offer highly reputable level 1 and 2 courses, but of course they've chased those people away. I've had the misfortune of seeing some of the written answers by the various candidates from some of these courses. These answers were after they were given the requisite material to prepare and I can confidently tell you that our challenges are real. Some of the answers were unbelievably funny though. I think the presence of heavy metals in our municipal water (which has been unavailable for the last few years) may be a contributory factor. What is particularly galling is that somehow a high percentage of these gifted fellows somehow find themselves in administrative roles. I could teach a feral pigeon to pass a level 1 coaching course.

The current level 1 course has about as much recognition as forged bond note.

Just wondering if it could be translated into vernacular??? Could be that comprehension is a problem - in some cases at least...

Obviously 'shonglish' would, out of necessity, need to be used for some terminology the same way that Pakistanis and Indians talk about cricket in Urdu and Hindi, but it's studded with English words.

Thanks gargamel. I have an ECB cert coming up this year via my club. I live in the UK. The info is good though. Doesn't seem that expensive.
