I shall never understand this but a club in England have signed Mark for the 2016 season.
Complete madness in my opinion for the club in question.

Re: Mark Vermeulen
If a former international with a test century wanted to play for my club team, i wouldnt care how many times the guy called Prosper a monkey, he would be signing those rego forms.

Re: Mark Vermeulen
The truth of the matter is the term monkey is used in Zimbabwe in a derogatory fashion for anyone that is stupid inept or corrupted. Most of the time it is used for people in power-- white or black that are corrupt and inept.
In Zim cricket there is a lot of cultural and racist chatter that would make an Englishman blush but is natural good natured banter here.

Maybe so but I think if my team had signed him there would be uproar in the league.ZIMDOGGY wrote:If a former international with a test century wanted to play for my club team, i wouldnt care how many times the guy called Prosper a monkey, he would be signing those rego forms.
It'll be interesting to see if he actually lasts a season and has another meltdown like before

Someone make sure teams in his league are all using boundary ropes and not metal / concrete markers...GregorPJ wrote:ZIMDOGGY wrote:It'll be interesting to see if he actually lasts a season and has another meltdown like before

I predict this will not end well.

End? Surely this is a saga that will never actually end...maehara wrote:Back again!ZIMDOGGY wrote:Guess who's back !

Exactly my thoughts. It's almost as if the folks taking these decisions are saying "ok, let's stick him in there, and see when the next explosion happens". Almost as if they are running a real life soap opera and want some spice in their lives and are using the Verm for it.aydee wrote:End? Surely this is a saga that will never actually end...
