I want to see Ives bowl.

Watched a bit of the game so far, a little bit of conservative captaincy and not very impressive on the field. But I can see the immense talent in Ngarava and Mashinge - if you keep aside the bit of inconsistency that can be imrpoved upon. Particularly the angles that Ngarava generates. Spinners doing their job too, but dropping the odd one short and they are taking their toll on them. With the batting we have, this is already looking ominous though. Pretty impressive start by Matigimu too as I write this.

However, why are we playing with 6 frontline bowlers + Ives who can bowl more than just a couple? If Mashinge can bowl 10, we could have gone with only one of Matigimu / Ngarava + Madhevere, Magarira and Mavuta with Ives to fill in (as well as Snyder?)

And a great effort from Matigimu to run the WI skipper out

Good observations. We are definitely long on bowlers. Matigimu can more than hold a bat, he's been a disaster so far, but maybe today will be better. Great run out by him. I really want to see Ives, I want to be convinced that he's not better than the Mcgyvers. I would like to see Sly trundle in and see if it will seam.

The Zim seamers look really good. Tall, and with pace. Maybe not express, but certainly quicker than the likes of Tinashe and Jongwe.

Yes, and not bad control for a young leggie for the skipper Mavuta too. Very much in control. Have to see how he reacts if they decide to take him on, but all the bowlers so far have had something that says they belong here.
