Re: Zim opening combination
Prince Masvaure & Terisai Musakanda should be developed as openners, both have got sound techniques and can play shots
Chari, Chibhabha, Masakadza, Sibanda, Mowayo are mediocre cricketers, played a lot failed to deliver.
Chisoro is a good prospect, he should bat at 4 or 5 in the domestic cricket, to evolve himself as an allrounder at the international arena.

Why do they want to humiliate him?

Watermelon claim's politics are denying Chigs to bowl..Bulawayo Boy wrote:watermelon wrote:Chigumbura is happy to bowl, but the slithering Streak and bumbling Cremer are seeking to marginalise and humiliate him.

Re: Zim opening combination
Its become clear Innocent Kaia will be the in line for some sort of Test Openning slot and may do better than Timcyn Maruma. There is no doubt that Tino Mawoyo is our best test opener in the current set up and currently available.A left field openner im interested in is Regis Chakabva who keeps scoring runs great attitude and needs to be backed.
In terms of the odi setup . I think Chibaba has what it takes if motivated. He is the most talented but also the laziest. The guy who i think can make the cut in the odi setup is Gary Chirimuuta im uploading some videos of him on you tube this eveing just to give you guys of a glimpse of his talent.

Re: Zim opening combination
If the criteria to be a Test opener is just to be better than Maruma then the bar is set pretty low.
Chari, bar one good innings, has been a total disaster. But I'd prefer Mawoyo+Chari in Sri Lanka rather than Mawoyo+I.Kaia - that's just setting him (Kaia) up for failure. Ideally though, I think Mawoyo+Raza is what we want because it opens up some room in the middle order.
1. T Mawoyo
2. S Raza
3. H Masakadza
4. C Ervine
5. S Williams
6. R Burl
7. PJ Moor (wk)
8. G Cremer (c)
9. T Chisoro
10. D Tiripano
11. T Chatara
Chakabva for Burl, if Moor is considered too much of a liability with the gloves.

I still think Hami should open in all formats .....

Re: Zim opening combination
He's good enough to open in Tests. Ervine has probably overtaken him as our best batsman now, but Hami is still our most accomplished Test batsman and I'd be inclined to leave him at three for that reason. And leaving Ervine at four gives us a strong middle order too.
