Match Thread: Zim Dev XI v Sri Lanka Dev XI

Post by zimfan1 »

43/1 from 7 overs - Mumba with the wicket

Zimbabwe Development XI team

BB Chari, KT Kasuza, TK Musakanda, PJ Moor*, LM Jongwe, NR Waller, J Gumbie†, VM Nyauchi, N Madziva, CT Mumba, HT Chikomba

Shocked to see Chikomba in the side, he has a terrible time in the Hampshire league in the UK with Cookham Dean CC. On paper this looks a stronger side than the 4 day match with Kasuza and Madziva coming into the side.

Kasuza is the most tried and tested failure Zim dev or A squads have ever known. I predict he will score under 10.

2 wickets for Waller now, his bowling makes him a serious cricketer and must be in the selectors thoughts. Also a great competitor and a leader on the field.

Would be nice to see Mumba, Nyauchi and Waller in the next limited overs squad, i would also stick with Chari as i think there is a player there.

Impressive from Muskanda and Mumba who seem to be the ones making a case for future national team selection (in a year or so). Hope more "A" team cricket is arranged so that they can test themselves against good opposition.
