Bloated squad of 20 for SL Tests

Post by CrimsonAvenger »

Taibu or no Taibu, ZC continues to pick meaningless squads of arbitrary sizes prior to a series. This time, they have a squad of 20 that will be reduced later. Here are the folks who have made it:

Cremer, Mawoyo, H Masakadza, Chibhabha, Masvaure, Mumba, Williams, Ervine, Raza, Waller, Nyumbu, Mpofu, Chakabva, Mutumbami, Vitori, Tiripano, Moor, Chari, Muzarabani, Musakanda

So, no Chatara, Panyangara, Chigumbura and Sibanda (surely, this should be it for the latter two in the longest format?). Nyumbu the only spinning challenge for Cremer and he has no reason to be there on performance. How the hell does Muzarabani keep making these teams?

Maybe our plan is to play all 20. Perhaps then we can pick up 20 wickets or get 400 runs in the first innings?

Oh for the days of odd-numbered matches, when "All-England" played the "XXI Gentlemen of Leicester, their XI grooms and miscellaneous gardeners".

If there's any truth in this 20, which as we know is unlikely, then thank God that Chigumbura and Sibanda have been left out, I understand that Panyangara is both unfit and not likely to fit into the largest Zim kit currently available, taking out Mawoyo, Chari and Muzarabani then leaves a far more manageable 17 to pick from, 11 Black, 5 White and 1 Asian ought to satisfy even the most racist selectors

I understand there is a good chance that Ngarava will be drafted in at the last minute, given the captaincy and will open both the batting and bowling while keeping wicket

Panyangara is a frustrating waste of space.

How the hell do you let yourself, as your full time job and countrys premier fast bowler, get obese?

That is an absolute joke and shows a clear lack of effort. He's low energy.

Remember he is a fast bowler and not a batsman. A fat batsman is bad enough but a fat paceman is unheard of in the professional era.

We laughed at Watermelon for verbally abusing players that he saw at KFC, but that negro was onto something that we were all slow to see!

Muzarabani, Nyumbhu, Tiripano doesnt have the capability of picking 1 wicket, how will they pick 20 wickets in Test.

Ngarava has stiff challenge for those roles from Daniel Jakiel if the forum is to be believed. So, no need to be bothered too much for now.

Chamu
Hami
Raza
Ervine
Waller
Williams
Moor
Cremer
Tiripano
Mumba
Vitori

Very tempted to chuck in Musakanda but might leave him for ODI's .....

Not crash hot on Vitori or Tiripano but better than Mpofu and Muzarabani ......
