Yeah i'm with you on that one Train Driver, it does seem a little far fetched for my liking. Lamb and Wessels form the squad platform ?? Interseting.

LOL @ article.
When was the last CENTURY that John Rennie played? Riki Wessels - he's not even qualified! Has Hamilton scored a double century? And Southern Rocks are Masvingo, not Bulawayo!
Also, Gavin Ewing and Greg Lamb haven't yet got into the Zimbabwe squad.

If Zimbabwe is serious about geting the Test-Status back i think it will have to do lot of work
* Firstly it will have to come out of Internal fights and Disputes
* Secondly it will have to prove it in the ODI format where it has to beat heavywieghts like
Australia, SouthAfrica atleast 3 to 4 times in a year.

Agree with this. There have been encouraging steps taken of late. Hoping for the best here.

This is not a logical thing to expect at this point. Firstly, many big teams are not even playing Zim for various reasons: political issues, health risks, lack of money, you name it. And still, Zim are expected to learn and produce better results. How is this a possibility?
If the top nations regularly play Zim at ODI level, and prove that they are not improving over a period of time, then they have a reason to complain.
Anyway, even the likes of Bangladesh, WI, and Pakistan are not beating Aussies and SA 3 to 4 times a year in first place. Don't they still have the test status? Plus, We saw Zim beat Kenya in 9 out of 10 ODIs last year, thus proving that they are way ahead of the associates.
For me, rest of the cricketing world has no right to complain about Zim's re-entry. A tight ODI series against WI this year (a 3-2 or a 2-3) and a decent show at World T20 would help Zim's cause a great deal.

As usual CrimsonAvenger i agree with you 100%. Anybody can say that Zimbabwe are not good enough but like you say beating Kenya 9/10 shows that we're way above the associate nations. Excellent analasis and i like your optimism for the West Indies toure

This is a performance that is needed badly. If Kemar Roach is indeed as fast and fearsome as he is being made out to be, then, we would be in a bit of a bother. We have not been very good against decent pace bowling of late. That said, WI bowling is ordinary otherwise, and if we cut down on "soft dismissals", then there is no reason why we can't win some there. Remember, Vusi and Chibhabha have had decent success there before, so fingers crossed

kemar roach can bowl 150+ and can often bown the unplayable ball but still he is young with much to learn
