We must definitely participate in this. Format being round robin, this will give us at least 8 matches even if BD does not participate and 9 if they do. We badly need T20 games. If BD does turn up, they might steam roll all opposition except Afg who would put up a fight. But this is totally worth it.According to one source, both Bangladesh and Zimbabwe have also been invited, but their participation is not confirmed.

We must play this. If not, how many T20I do we get to play in a year? 2 to 3. Nowhere near enough to get better at the weakest format of ours. And we have a couple of really good players in Hamilton and Waller in this format, add Moor, and we could be looking at these guys attracting T20 league gigs across the world. Win-win for our guys and the team in my view. And we will definitely do well against 5-6 out of the 8 associates (they all have T20I status mind you) so nothing to worry. We would know where we stand too. This is a must in my view. We get to play at least 8 matches.

I agree, we have to play.
We're not good enough any more to decline matches out of pride.
Any word on where this tournament will be played? We desperately need game time on foreign soil.

We can't cop out of this. Whether we go down or crush the opposition or somewhere in between. Honour demands it.
