Day Night Facilites can bring Profits to Zimbabwe Cricket

Post by ##Dougie Mariller »

Zimbabwe Cricket should start redevelopment of cricket infrastructure by sorting out all the fund problems, and their first plan should be to introduce FLOOD LIGHTS IN HARARE CRICKET CLUB GROUND that will end the long waiting scheduling of FIRST TIME DAY NIGHT CRICKET in ZIMBABWE. In 2010 Zimbabwe Cricket chairman Alistar Cambell & president Ozeas Bavute had the plans but the lack of power generation capability and logistics problem stopped the project.
With the improvement in power sector by Zimbabwe Electric Supply Authority & more power generation by Harare Power Station & Kariba South Extension Station in 2016, Zimbabwe Cricket is certainly hoping to restart the project of rennovation of Harare Sports Club that also includes availability of Seats, Spectators facilities & better training facilities.
Zimbabwe Cricket's most important misson is to complete the Multifacility, flood light enabled cricket ground at one of the world's most attractive place in VICTORIA FALLS. Zimbabwe Cricket has announced the construction of a major new cricket ground close to the iconic Victoria Falls in 2010, widely considered to be one of the seven natural wonders of the world. The venue, which will have a capacity of up to 12,000 and the place is connected with some better communication, will be the first such major site outside Harare and Bulawayo, and will utilise the latest ecologically-friendly features.
Zimbabwe Cricket undertook to build a new cricket stadium in October 2014 and a ceremony was held at the site just off Pioneer Road in the industrial site
between the railway line and in 2015, Photo Shoot was organized with the players holding ICC WORLD CUP 2015 TROPHY replica.
In January 2016, the project was in a limbo,Zimbabwe Cricket should soon resume the construction work , as Zimbabwe Cricket has already planned to host a Test & Day Night Odi in this new Venue in 2022 after ICC approved the Venue fit for International Cricket in 2014.
Zimbabwe Cricket is also ready to finalize GLAMIS STADIUM as the new Test Cricket Venue. The Venue looks Greenery, it and being situated at the Heart of the City, and its a big ground both in length & width and could be an amazing test venue with the beauty & green natural environment. It is currently being used for Live shows and the annual agricultural show. Tests & first class games at Glamis , it will be good for exposure. ZIMBABWE CRICKET is ready to get the approval, & convert this venue a great centre for Test Cricket.
ZIMBABWE CRICKET is also looking to improve facilities in Domestic Cricket & Non Test Playing Grounds, to get more ICC Approval Venues.
MUTARE SPORTS CLUB, KWEKI SPORTS CLUB, BULWAYO ATHLETIC CLUB are all set for improvements and to apply to ICC for TEST VENUE centres.
QUEENS SPORTS CLUB, BULAWAYO would be the THIRD ground with FLOOD LIGHT INSTALED BY 2030.
Among the domestic cricket grounds Country Club Harare, Sunrise Sports Club Bulwayo & Triangle Country Club are in the line for Improvements & emerged as an International Venue for Cricket.

Developing Flood Lights will develop, Zimbabwe as one of the biggest centre hosting global cricket like World Cup, Champions Trophy or a T20 World Cup, which can improved their earning, as day night cricket, brings lots of crowds to the ground
