Cricinfo now says match abandoned without a ball bowled. Looking at the brighter side, gives us relief from discussing the merit of continued inclusion of Simbarashe Gupos and Taurai Muzarabanis.

only in Zimbabwe.
Why the organisation doesnt make player payments the first and utmost priority is beyond me. Players are probably best adopting a zero tolerance attitude.
You'd NEVER see this in any country outside of Africa.

I think ZC should try and be a little more transparent when communicating with the players. An example we can all relate to when someone owes you money and tells you they lol pay you on a certain date or tells you the money has been transferred but it neverd arrives it's very infuriating and the trust is lost. But if someone is honest and says 'mate I've got no cash atm and I won't be able to pay for a couple of weeks' you can at least trust them cause they're being honest. Now it's quite obvious getting money in Zimbabwe atm isn't easy with the bank note deal going on so why can't ZC just tell the guys the truth "Hey fellas we can't pay you guys for a month or so but we'll sort it once the next grant from the ICC comes in"
Issue is obviously the trust is already broken from decades of lies and broken promises .....

What is an example of a successful company in Zimbabwe... Econet?
I wonder if their workers get paid on time.
ZC get plenty of USD rolling in from the ICC, unlike most companies in Zim they get plenty of foreign currency so cash flow shouldn't be an issue. I bet the admin staff always get paid on time.
The sooner ICC step in and settle their debts in exchange for appointing their own administrator, the better.

Wasnt something lik this offered a couple ofyears ago and ZC REFUSED?

Yup. Presumably because that would have removed the ability of people to skim from ZC's income without the ICC noticing.

Econet is probably the most expensive mobile network in the world. They are a giant rip off, I'm constantly unsuccessfully querying my balances which frequently just disappear when I've barely used the phone and all my data usage apps are off.
There are rumblings that Strive is presidential material, and he has certainly ticked the rip off box.
Another inept, corrupt organization is ICC itself. Why no public statement on the Zim and SA situation?
Was ZC only behind on 2 months' salaries? When you get paid one salary and you're told it's your December Christmas salary does it make you feel better, does it come in a Christmas box to differentiate it from the November salary that would come in a brown envelope? Some players are still owed money from tours from years ago so they are still a bit behind!!
Those guys on national contracts not showing solidarity with the other players on the basis that they have a different contractual obligation is just typical stupidity and we deserve our predicament. Stop playing cricket and demand a new start with new people. The problem is they'd pick people of a similar ilk that would do more of the same. The frog in the pot springs to mind. Every year we accept lower and lower standards with the same dumb expressions hoping for a different outcome. We're sitting here with no water, no electricity, no food no currency and no plan and yet there is still support for the perpetrators of these crimes. What am I missing?
