Taibu speaking to AFG, IRL, SCO for fixtures

These are good developments. And I like Taibu's thought process in these quotes. He is also not shying away from speaking about the issues being faced by ZC in conducting the Logan Cup. This is the first time anyone from the setup has spoken about it in public.

So, most likely, AFG in Feb, hopefully IRL and SCO before the SL tour, and most likely BD and WI after that. Would be good if all this fell in place.

The "petty minor issues" he's talking about are stopping us playing games so they're neither petty nor minor. How can you have a convenor/selector/development manager based in another country????
If anyone thinks this is ok then they are just plain stupid.
He must be relying on someone's feedback, which is unacceptable. This is a joke.

Ireland/Scotland are correct in assuming we were ducking them. We've always been desperate for more game time and should have played them many times instead of scrambling for games at the last minute. Everyone needs to know whether we are affiliate or full member standard. We've been ducking them because if we're not up to speed we risk being downgraded and then there's less money to thieve, that's the main issue.

Everybody is rightfully very nervous of where we are really at standard-wise. A one off loss can be excused, but an actual series will show us the real picture. I'm not saying we will lose, but it's going to be an acid test.

We've lost 4 series and draw one against Afghanistan they have the wood over us so no point ducking them now we have nothing to loose by playing them. In actual fact we have played them more than any other test nation. The ducking was more towards Ireland after the 07 WC once we realised they were better than us .....

Anyways this is great to see we have some games coming up, hopefully the. It's get some time in the middle during the Logan cup and we're ready and rolling by the time the odi series against Afghanistan starts ....

1. Taibu selecting a team from the UK is indeed absurd and is a point of discussion elsewhere, but the point of this is something else. He's trying something we should have done long back, So, let us give him some credit for what he is trying.
2. IRL have no reason to complain about Zim. Who else apart from ZC have invited them for a bilateral series all these years? Haven't they played at least twice against us already? And yes, AFG 5 times. Why don't they spew some venom at BD, WI or SL for a change? We are the only ones who have played them in a home bilateral series at all...

If Zimbabwe Plays odi sereis with Afghanistan, Ireland and Scotland, there is a still chance for them to finish in top 8 in ICC Rankings before September 2017.

Taibu & Streak should now make efforts to build a strong team, so that they can win all the matches against the associates. Few Seniors who are underperformed needs to be dropped, under 19s doing well should get picked in place of them.

BD was the first to host Ireland with a 3 ODI series in 2008 when they still had Morgan. We toured Ireland (and Netherlands and Scotland) in 2010, losing once each to the Irish and the Dutch. We again toured Ireland for a 3 match T20 series in 2012.

Bangladesh has lost more games to Associates than all the other test teams combined, and that includes ZIM. I think its because we have played so many.

We hosted Scotland for bilaterals in 2006 as well.

We have so far hosted 3 associates for bilateral series. We used to play associates too often back then...now we dont play them often enough. Although we did just play the Afghans a few months ago.

Stoneman just made me thinks bit.

Could we manipulate the system by playing weak sides and get ourselves into the 8 that way? Through the Back door?

Can we invite a South African Negro 11 that will help their quota boosts they desperately need and give a chance to us to take serious points from a Victory they will brush off, but we get into the safe zone from s hollow victory ?

I think we would have to win a shit load of games against Afghanistan, Ireland and Scotland if we want a top 8 spot ....
