Lets Do Something About The Current Administration

Post by PJMoor »

Lets, start a petition, get 1000-2000 signatures, and ask ICC to investigate the ZC administration, or else Zimbabwe will never improve....
Any Ideas

So youre thinking of heading over to zim to play FC and all the way from australia youre struggling to put up with how zc runs the game over there...wait until youre there and seeing how the game is run firsthand. Plus when they pull this post up and show you and explain thats the reason your visa was denied and your player registration fees are 5 times anything that any other player pays

People have tried for ages from a variety of different angles. It's one of the reasons ZC have entirely replaced the old guard because they suspect they play a double hand. It was not strictly true either, there are still plenty of people currently there not happy with the way things are run and leak information. Ultimately ICC are the bosses and could insist on a few things but they never seem to. They occasionally make a few noises, but somehow ZC keep ticking most of the boxes and getting reprieves. Tragically we're in a corner now where a lot rides on us qualifying for the next World Cup because that guarantees a huge cash injection from it and thereafter. If we don't qualify I believe we are on thin ice as far as our membership goes. The way ZC seems to ignore this fact means I may be wrong and perhaps they've been given assurances that ICC will keep us afloat. ICC's stance on us seems to be a closely guarded secret. Much of the power for change comes from the people who vote ZC in. Of course they are old hands at this and it's mere child's play to manoever around this. The ultimate power lies in the hands of the players. I've said it time and again, all else has failed and they are in a position to insist on changes. Again they are divided and not much will happen. If they were to unite some of them would be masters of their own demise. The fact is we're not winning games without star quality players- international cricket is tough and getting tougher. We need better players. Some people think that the likes of Burl, Murray. Lake, etc will turn our fortunes around. They may in the long term, if they are commited and get the exposure, but it's a process to create top players. We need a bunch of them and from that bunch only a few have that bit extra to become really good. There's no quick fix between now and the WC and then only the people in the know have an idea what's in store for us after that. Afghansistan are proving emphatically that they are better than us. Ireland are coming for us next, or PNG, or Canada. We're not so slowly sinking down the ladder. When Vusi, Hammy, Williams etc bow out we are in real shit. They are good experienced players and I don't care what anyone says, we don't have guys of their calibre to replace them.

What happened to ZC's Dave Everington? The last senior white executive IIRC.

Oh such a millennial.

Believes petitions are worth the paper they are written on.
