Seriously? Mire just walks back in. On the back of what? A mediocre WC?

Batting looks paper-thin without Willow and Hami. [sarcasm]But I'm sure Elton and Malcom will step up as the senior batsmen that they are[/sarcasm]

No Williams, no H Masakadza. Top order looks shaky to me, particularly the opening pair. I mean given this squad it has to be "Raza + ?" right? And the only one that makes sense is Moor (even though I admit that experiment didn't work last time). Musakanda or Burl shouldn't be thrown in the deep end, Ervine is good at 3, and the Waller's or Mire (or Chigumbura) have never opened before.
I'm thinking:
1. Raza
2. Moor (wk)
3. Ervine
4. Burl
5. Musakanda
6. M Waller
7. Mire
8. N Waller
9. Cremer (c)
10. W Masakadza
11. Chatara

Seeing the Zimbabwe squad, Afghans looks clearly favorites. Rubbish Solomon Mire back in the Squad after destroying Zimbabwe hopes in 2015 World Cup and will clearly vanish again after getting demolished by the Afghans
Credit goes Elton Chigumbura ( In 2016, 6 odis, 246 Runs, Wickets 0) & Bobby Mpofu ( 3 odis 1 wickets) for bribing the selectors with huge US Dollars for being selected in the Squad.
Its Sad for Richard Ngarava, Brendan Mavuta, Hamilton Masakadza - leading runs scorer for Zimbabwe in Odis 2016 ( 8 odis, 280 Runs)
Luke Jongwe contiued to be ignored for his problem with Ntini

I was going to predict a 4-1 win for us, a la that 118 all out for the women. Not with this shitty squad, no. We have dug the hole so deep that we are coming out of Hawaii.
I'm sure Williams would have another colorful story to go with this drop, but Chigumbura, Malcolm Waller and Mpofu all make it while Hamilton is dropped. I have no expletives available to express myself well.
Does Chigumbura even play any cricket at all apart from turning out for the national side these days? What kind of shitty influence to have around the squad for the youngsters to learn from.
PNG is calling...

this squad is short of batsmen and it might force PJ to open which is not ideal.Williams and Hami would have been in my 11 because of the experience they have playing against Afghanistan and the relative success they had. Mpofu clearly has some support amongst the selectors. good to see Mire back in the team. I believe he can be turned into the genuine all rounder we have been looking for with the right amount of coaching. Maybe they will make him open

On a plus, this will be retina last series as he will be exposed hard.
If hammy was going to be dropped, why was he not given an A game?

Some clarity, thanks to Tristan Holme:

"One of the issues in the past was forcing guys to play domestic cricket," head coach Heath Streak told Cricbuzz on Thursday (February 9). "We've discussed it and decided that because Solomon has been playing a high level of cricket in Australia, we are happy for him to continue living and playing in Australia but to represent us at international level whenever he is available.
However Sean Williams, Hamilton Masakadza, Chamu Chibhabha and Tendai Chisoro were all left out after they failed to pass the minimum fitness standards set by the team management. Williams has also been struggling with a back injury.
All four players will be given a chance to force their way into the squad over the weekend, with Zimbabwe Cricket leaving two places available to those who perform well in the opening round of the Pro50 Championship, which has been brought forward to give players match practice ahead of the Afghanistan series.
